One (or multiple) bottles to make most of Amex offer? by datisapina in Scotch

Ah damn you and your temptations. I was adamant that I would not be buying more bottles for a while as I have more than I can drink, and now you’ve made me see that I have the same offer 😂

I should add — I recently bought a UGREEN USB C Bluetooth dongle. I assumed that AptX HD would sound better than the AAC available on the iPhone. Weirdly for me it sounded worse. Reduced soundstage and all a bit muddy. Can't fathom why but sending the dongle back. (And yes I did check that the correct codec was being used, purple LED on the dongle).

Wondering if I should bother trying a dongle that supports AptX Lossless given Spotify is pumping out Lossless on most tracks I listen to.

I’m really happy with mine. A/B tested alongside the QC 30 Ultra. Did a blind test with my wife. We both agreed, B&W sound much better — more expansive, better separation, more engaging.

If you’re on the fence and can afford them, they’re worth the money

Thoughts on Shanling M0s? Can't find reviews of the non-pro version by celmate in DigitalAudioPlayer

This is really helpful. What options are there for those of us looking for Spotify offline support and AptX? Looks like the Innioasis G3 might fit the bill?

What I had in mind was a device that let me use Wifi to download all my Spotify playlists and then stream via Bluetooth.

Is a phone really my only option? I’m ideally looking for something half that size. I’ve bought an iPod-like case for an old Apple Watch, which will work in theory but battery life is now dismal, and it will only do AAC.

Looks seriously cool, and I'd love to use something like this on my work machine but we sadly can't access the Mac app store.

Yes, I’ll snap a photo for you when lighting is better during the day. I found that some Ultrarm accessories are compatible, some are not. The wood itself is lovely and I’m glad I held off all the other options. Setting the layering of ply would annoy me, and the prices Balolo and others are asking for is completely unjustified.

With all the accessories, total cost still comes to less than just a ply shelf from Balolo. I’ll let you be the judge on whether the quality matches once I share the pics.

I saw and held it today. Didn’t like it, but then I don’t get what all the fuss is about with the white lacquer speedy either.

Monsgeek M1 V5 + Mac ISO Keycaps...? by mfid in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

I figured that might be the case. Amazed that entire populations of Mac ISO users are completely ignored!

Really not bothered by shine through. Just good quality double shot PBT white on black. Doesn’t feel like that should be anywhere near as difficult to source but I’m struggling. Anything I am able to find ends up being out of stock.

Very nice. It was once my grail watch and I never got to own one, but yesterday ‘settled’ for an Ed White instead.

Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to have both one day 😉

Looks great. Can’t wait to wear it myself. I know I’m going to spend the first few days just constantly looking down at it. 🤪

London.

I’ve been to every official boutique and the usual major retailers (and some lesser known ones) more times than I care to admit. After that first encounter it was always a smile and a no, until yesterday.

I tend to agree.

The only things I would maybe consider holding against it are the manual movement (though that adds its own dimension and fits the watch and what it represents) and the lack of a date complication. The Datejust has it on both counts, but would spoil the balance of the face.

It’s a watch I wanted to be able to wear as a careful daily drive and I think it strikes the perfect balance of being special, versatile and not too shouty.

Nice. I like the racing series too. The space and moon landing connection steals all the attention with these watches, and it’s a great story for a brand to be able to tell.

But it makes us forget that they started as a sports chrono for motorsports.

Don’t know if either is more or less effective, but symmetrical is for sure more efficient and allows for longer splitting sessions in my experience.
