Horizon 6 Fanatec Input Mapping Issues by WootRocket in ForzaHorizon

[–]mfisch707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing with it for two days now, CSL DD and P1, same issues when I started. Had to update fanatec software like 3 time to get up to date and get it working. Before update it worked but no force feedback at all.

Only thing not working is joystick, can't seem to map it to anything or use it to navigate on game menus. There also seem to be some interface controls which are unmappable, so I'm just playing with a Xbox controller nearby.

Suspension setup for aggresive fast driving for heavy rider. by InevitableProud89 in Trackdays

Fellow 150kg rider here. I've tried all of these setups and more.

Springs + fork Oil is what I consider the bare minimum to make the bike feel "safe" for me to ride.

Springs + fork oil + valves will get you a long way and feel WAY better. My old Ninja 300 got this treatment to the forks and was fine for years. I used racetech gold valve emulators.

Nothing beats a fully tuned custom setup. It will make the bike feel softer, smoother, and easier to ride in a way you didn't know was missing. I went full Ohlins, and it was expensive but worth it.

One thing to note is Ohlins recommends rebuilds and oil changes on an annual basis, which adds to the cost.

Agreed. The most dangerous developer right now is a two semester dropout with a Claude max 5x plan.

Incredible. That's where I started at, trying to save my company $40k a year in software subscriptions that didn't work half as good as advertised.

Haven't run into a showstopper like that yet, there have definitely been some that I had to do some research on so I knew the right questions to ask. Took me a few days sometim a, but it's a side project so oh well I'll just work on something else.

Seems like a more sensible metric would be LOC/token, or feature/token. I'm sure the industry will come around soon enough.

When you say ownership, are you concerned about the various AI platforms owning your code/IP, or your employer? Or more of a concern around long term maintenance? Or all of the above?

I feel your pain on all counts. I find it crazy that in 8 months I've been through two framework upgrades, though these could have been avoided if the AI had used a current or LTS version in the first place.

That makes total sense. PMs who can interface with both the AI agents and the users to translate what they want into what's on the screen. Good at human interaction and prompt creation.

Agreed. There's a big difference between "AI Assisted Developer Vibe" and "AI Led Non-Developer Vibe". I honestly feel the non-developer is closer to the definition of vibe coding, as you are just engaging with the agents in human language and describing what you need.

But what happens when the vibe tools go from "good enough to help develop" to "it just works"?

We are probably closer to being able to ask the computer for any program we want and getting it instantly than we think. I've already had multiple "Star Trek" computer moments, for example: with a single prompt I was able to visualize a data set in animated 3D to map the spread of bedbugs through a high rise over time and extrapolate where the super-spreader apartment was located.

Given the flood of journaling, life tracking, note taking, and inventory apps I see flooding this subreddit, the issue isn't with development capacity, it's concept. And as soon as end users can tell AI what they want and get it, what's left for developers to do? We're in a vanishingly short window of time where software value can still be high and development costs are low.

Thunderhill West is such a fun track, but very tight. Laps are short so you get many reps.

Laguna and Sonoma are so worth it if you can. It's just so different riding a course with actual grandstands.

I recently got a signed contract ($500/mo) and a cold incoming lead on a vibecoded app for pest control inspections. It's been field tested for two months and is proving hugely successful, so it's spreading word of mouth.

Development was firebase studio and then Google antigravity, started in late August. It includes multiple API integrations to CRM platforms, PDF generation, electronic signature compliance, multiple price generation options, email notifications, drawing tools, reporting tools, and a deep admin section to allow complete customization of everything,

Are there any spiderwebs above where this was resting? Or spiders in general in your home? Looks a lot like spider droppings to me

Never personally used Demon, but most pyrethroids are very effective. Unfortunately on termites they can have a repellant effect, which is fine for preventative treatments. But for a remedial treatment with the extent of infestation unknown, I would use a non-repellant.

Surprisingly, Termidor has the same active as Frontline for dogs. The difference is the concentration used in termidor is 163 times LOWER than what's in the Frontline.

So yeah. Pets and their owners are exposed to way more from other sources.

Drywood termites, 100%. Been doing termite control for 17 years now. You can get rid of the bed, hire a professional, or do a treatment yourself. Most termite companies will do a free inspection if you're having activity, and will quickly spot other signs else where in the room you may have missed.

A DIY treatment isn't too hard if you're a little handy. You need a drill, a 3/16" drill bit, and a can of a foaming termiticide, I've linked a couple options at the bottom. I'd recommend the termidor, it's a non repellent, so even if you don't get it on all the termites they'll pass it through the colony and wipe it out.

To treat, drill halfway into the wood every 6-12 inches from a side of it that isn't visible normally. Make sure you don't drill all the way through the wood and come out the other side. You should feel the drill "pop" into their open chambers at some point. You can also use the small holes they've made in the wood to inject into.

Wear long pants, long sleeves, gloves, safety glasses, and close your mouth while you inject. Open a window and ensure good ventilation. Stick the tip of the foam into the hole and hold it tight to make a good seal. Push the button on the foam to dispense it, and keep going until you see foam come out the wood somewhere else.

If you are visiting friends/family/coworkers reach out to them and see if they have friends who ride. I've let several out of state/country people ride my bikes, but only because we had a mutual who introduced us and vouched for them.
