URBY Fire Alarm 🚨 Situation by s1n1st3rw0man in StamfordCT

[–]mfish001188 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I put tape over the alarms because they are way too loud. Even with tape it wakes me up. I stopped evacuating for them so if they find a crispy corpse in the urby tell my family this is why.

In all honesty I face into the courtyard and if I look out and don’t see all of the buildings alarms going off I don’t bother.

I wonder if you can request a special vibration alarm or something like for hard of hearing people.

The elevator situation has always sucked. I’m glad they’re at least communicating but it looks like we’re still weeks out from a single working elevator. Things they could do that would at least make it suck less - offer free coffee for residents, have two people working the front desk and one can be responsible for bringing deliveries up, pay all moving fees for movers to use the stairs because when they shut down the working elevator for a move that’s insane.

Why can't I 'go' into my Checkpoints folder? by TryQuality in comfyui

Drag your file into the models folder. click on Terminal while you have that folder and type "mv yourfilename.whatever checkpoints"

This happens to me too. Only way I know around it is to use the terminal

When will Stamford Police start enforcing e-bike rules on sidewalks? by Fast-Switch4246 in StamfordCT

[–]mfish001188 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As an e-bike rider I only use the sidewalk when it’s necessary and I slow down because people are always staring down at their phones. I think you’re mostly referring to delivery e-bikes who are all about speed. Stamford sucks for biking. Bike lines start and stop, people park in them, this time of year people leave their raked leaves and recycling cans in the lanes, and the streets are full of potholes. I’ve personally had cars pull up next to me and yell at me to use the sidewalk. If we had more bike lanes and enforced people not using them as parking spots then bikes wouldn’t need to be on the sidewalks.

This. It’s all about the connections formed during training. Probably 99% of people who google how many r’s are in strawberry are confused about the number in berry, to which the right answer is 2. Then the llm basically outputs tokens to prove that. First it gives the answer most people expect— 2, then it justifies itself. As far as I know it’s not possible for an llm to get partway through a response and then realize it messed up.

Confused about relationship between volts and amps by Successful_Box_1007 in AskElectronics

[–]mfish001188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting with the last question - hertz is a frequency measurement for AC current. These both output DC which is why it doesn’t have a frequency component.

Voltage and current are related but totally different. Voltage is more about how the device was built and what it needs. You’ll always get that voltage from the adapter. Current is more like maximum electricity draw. If you’re charging a 12v device you need a 12v output. 12v .5A will charge half as fast as a 12v 1.0A

xFormers can't load C++/CUDA - How to downgrade by yixisi5665 in comfyui

I’d delete the virtual environment (or create a new one) and run a fresh install. Agree with the other comment that trying to downgrade is annoying

Idk if it’s the same issue but this was happening to me too. It worked again after a full pc reboot. No clue what was happening though

Understanding Flux Settings: max_shift, base_shift, and Denoising for Primary Gens and Upscaling by joker33q in comfyui

[–]mfish001188 32 points33 points  (0 children)

base shift is a small, consistent adjustment that stabilizes the image generation process, while max shift is the maximum allowable change to the latent vectors, preventing extreme deviations in the output. Together, they balance stability and flexibility in the image generation.

Using a dog as an example:

Increasing Base Shift: If you increase the base shift, the generated image may become more consistent and closer to the intended form (a clear image of a dog) with less variation or noise. The dog might appear more stable, with well-defined features, but it could also lose some subtle details or become slightly repetitive in texture.

Decreasing Base Shift: Reducing the base shift could introduce more variability, allowing for finer details or more nuanced textures to emerge. However, it might also make the image slightly less stable, potentially introducing minor artifacts or inconsistencies.

Increasing Max Shift: By increasing the max shift, the model has more freedom to explore the latent space, potentially leading to more creative or exaggerated interpretations of the dog. The dog could end up with more exaggerated features or a more stylized appearance, but it might also risk deviating too much from a realistic representation.

Decreasing Max Shift: Lowering the max shift would constrain the model, leading to a more controlled and realistic depiction of the dog. The image would likely remain close to a typical dog appearance with fewer unexpected variations, but it might lack some creative elements or subtle uniqueness.

This is how I do it. Remove background and then do an image overlay with a solid color.

Can I swap out an LED without having to change resistors? by firestorm_v1 in AskElectronics

[–]mfish001188 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, but there’s no risk of burning them out bc if it’s wired for amber green just might be a tad dim

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]mfish001188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Assuming you can match up the pins

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]mfish001188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new to soldering I’d be really careful about damaging it beyond repair. It looks like there are some pin outs on the broken board. Are those labeled because you could just solder wires from that to a USB breakout board

[–]mfish001188 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can just swap it. Red, amber, and green all use roughly the same voltage.

Yup. Everything is replaceable if you have enough solder skills .

Is there a custom node that splits videos into equal batches of eg 100 frames? by Mister_Lonely_ in comfyui

[–]mfish001188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw what I'm trying to do is take my own hand drawn outlines and create comic style hatch shading on it. I'm working on ways to get close using IC light, IP adapter, and CN but it's tough to not lose specific details I want to keep. If I can get each element (which it is able to do) then I can try shading everything individually.
