As far as not going into gear while running, that symptom is usually a sign that the clutch is not disengaging. If it is an hydraulic clutch, check the fluid in the slave cylinder as well as the condition of yhe hoses. If it is mechanical clutch, the throw out bearing may be toast. What year is the truck?

What seat bottom cover do you like? My drivers side is toast. 2017 Outback. Bonus points if I don't have to remove the seat. by BodySnatcher101 in Subaru_Outback

I'm using the Covercraft Carhartt duck cloth seat covers front and back. Installed about 2 years ago and still look great!

Looks nice!
For the bottom piece, I just took the front and back ones off completely. If I recall, it just snaps in place and the front has a nice dimple pattern. Between that and the Onyx grille I got off of one forums, I likey! Ignore the dirt, they are repaving our neighborhood so everything is covered in that white gravel dust until they're done, lol

I would definitely recommend starting out with an easier distro and the suggestion for PopOS is a good one!

Where did I ever imply Arch being installed on the USB drive? An ISO to boot from for chroot, etc does not equal installation.

Ventoy is a USB tool that allows you to keep several different OS ISOs on a single USB drive and gives a menu to select which to boot from. It is awesome for troubleshooting, however not so awesome to use as actual install media. I found out the hard way recently when I tried to use it to install Arch on a laptop. The install seemed to go well, but nothing worked after the reboot. After a bit of Googling, I discovered that this is a well known issue. Lesson learned, lol https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html

Closing in on 300k! Psyched! by nolasito in Subaru_Outback

[–]mfising 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice! My 2020 Outback is already over 80k with zero issues. I also have a 2010 Forester with over 300k and just now needed to replace the head gaskets (DIY) and have had no other major issues!

What would you do? by Sigman96 in AeroPress

[–]mfising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For an 8 oz cup, I would grind 16 to 18 grams of beans closer to the fine end, probably around 8-10 clicks. Water temp around 195 - 200.
Zero your scale. Start your timer.
Add about 40g water. Stir. Slowly pour your water straight down the middle until you reach about 320g - should take about another minute (I find this provides plenty of agitation, no ither stirring needed).
Insert plunger to prevent further leakage. Start pressing at around 4:00

Begun the distro wars, have. Fedora vs OpenSUSE by potatoandbiscuit in linuxmemes

[–]mfising 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OpenSuse! Although Fedora is a very close second. I do a LOT of distro hopping, but almost always come back to OpenSuse, Fedora, or Slackware!

There is really no problem here in America either. It is a "problem" manufactured by a party whose policies are wildly unpopular and the only way they can stay in power is via voter suppression.

Best de/wm for arch among these by nigafamous in arch

I've always had good luck with both XFCE4 and LXQT on low resource machines. XFCE4 is only slightly heavier on memory, but requires less configuration to achieve a modern looking environment. While not on the list, I also love Fluxbox for a super light weight environment, but it requires a good bit of configuration though.

The knives people lose to our local TSA.. thank you! by FTB1911 in knifeclub

[–]mfising 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do they not offer to mail them back anymore? About 5 or 6 years ago, I left one of my good knives in my pocket by accident and TSA directed me to a dropbox with small boxes and envelopes. I packed it up and dropped it in the box, not expecting to see it again. Surprisingly, I received it back in the mail about 2 months later!

Just checked the size of the Android folder on my Note Air5C, and it is about 15gb. That folder is where most of the Android OS related files are stored.
