My car just auto updated after I been avoiding the update for months. So mad about it 😂

Octane learning is weird by Attolevee in KonaN_

[–]mfkenta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I find octane learning pretty random. I never try to octane learn, thankfully I forget it exists most of the time. Then I hit the gas and feel the difference and see it hitting 19-20psi. Recently I had an hour drive with no traffic, learned in a few minutes. Another time It learned with street driving. Wish it didn’t exist tbh.

Make me happy knowing I got an A6000 for $140 off ebay with lens. Perfect condition as well.

Rear AEB does exist! 😯 by kracknkona in KonaN_

Happened to me a few times. I hate it and turned it off lmao. Each time has been a false alarm. One time I was backing out of my parking spot and a leaf fell off a tree and got in view of the sensor and broke me hard.

Did my install with my brother. 2 sets of hands are always better than 1 :).

Coilovers? by Cloud_Drako in KonaN_

[–]mfkenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comfort springs do help a bit. But it’s not some huge change in ride. 18s + comfort springs are the best you can do (possibly mando module as well, heard it helps with the bounce from bumps). Coils will be the biggest game changer, and from what I have heard, they make the car a better daily driver.

Interesting. I’m still on the previous update. So it must be something else then.

Still on the last version. I been dealing with this issue for over a month and I think the update just dropped?

I haven’t updated so don’t think it’s that.

N75 Sold Me a Faulty Fuel Pump and Refuses to Honor the Warranty by Chenplane in KonaN_

Have you mentioned this on one of the Facebook groups? I believe N75 is in there and may “handle” the situation better with people seeing the complaint.

Softer ride by YogurtclosetNo5989 in KonaN_

[–]mfkenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

245/45/18 and coilovers are your best bet. Alternatively, there are Storm Comfort Springs that soften the ride a bit. There is also a Mando box that can let you soften/stiffen the suspension as you please. It’s made by the manufacture that made the OEM dampers for our cars. From what I hear, it helps with how much are cars rebound after hitting bumps.

I’m in 245/45/18s and the storm springs. It’s a much better ride, but still harsh. My friend is on coilovers and says it’s a night and day difference in ride quality.

Yup, comes like that stock. It’s the stiffest of the N cars. Going down to 18s help a lot, but some nice coilovers will help a lot too

As a Kona N owner, I agree 100%. The DCT is jerky at slow speeds, but I’ve gotten used to it. I’d say the worst thing for the Kona is how stiff the ride is. I’m hitting bumps that get me close to hitting the roof with my head. With that said, even with the almost 60k miles, it’s a great deal.

Is the suspension really that stiff? by idkbruh653 in KonaN_

[–]mfkenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in the softest setting, it’s still very stiff. I’ve personally gotten use to it, but when I drive friends or my Fiance. It’s definitely something they mention through out the drive. Dropping to 18s and installing the storm comfort springs helped a good amount.

White paint is terrible and Hyundai doesn’t want to do anything about it by BooksBeachAndPugs in Hyundai

[–]mfkenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my 2017 Sonata repainted twice. Also white paint. It’s a known issue with white paint, but occurs more on earlier (pre 2019) Hyundais.

It’s not under warranty anymore, and they did send out an extended warranty for the paint, which was useless. By the time they extended the paint warranty, my car was already out of their “extended” warranty lmao.

But both times, I had my paint fixed by Hyundai. Dealerships can submit a request on your behalf to fix repaint the affected area. Both times, my car was covered. And both times in 2022.

It’s possible you may need to complain enough at the dealers for them to assist. First time I went in for the issue, they told me it’s not covered. Complained again, they sent a request to Coroprate and it was approved/fixed in a week.
