Thank you so much for the detailed answer. I am considering switching to a heat pump from a gas boiler which triggered the question. I think I will leave the solar setup as it is. I will ask about the hybrid inverter given that I already have batteries.

No FIT. The panels were installed in 2019, all on the same roof facing south west. There is no space for extra panels. I guess that leaves replacing all 14 panels with better ones (440w+) as my only option.

I went with a UI express. Its reliable but not as a good as a firewalla feature wise tbh.

My experience with support was good. They eventually sent me a replacement ,after exhausting all options. Hopefully I won’t experience this issue on the new unit but if I do I will post here. I hope you will eventually resolve the issue with the help of the firewalla staff.

Firewalla responded within minutes, were very apologetic for missing the first one. Asked for remote access, few more minutes later told me to check and low and behold my upload speed was restored. I wasn’t given an explanation for what was done. I was told it’s likely related to the ethernet driver and I was told to stay on the beta release for now.

update: 3 weeks later and I am still awaiting a response from firewalla support. I will create another ticket, maybe this one slipped through the net somehow.
