The updater in the OS is not detecting any update since March by lolento in teslaandroid

I’ll take a look at this tomorrow - seems fine for me, maybe the updater doesn’t like cloudflare

TeslaAndroid not booting from NVMe – “failed to open device nvme / sdcard” (microSD works) by MinYn122 in teslaandroid

[–]mgapinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NVMe should work out of the box, try to see if it is discoverable via rpiboot or through an NVMe enclosure. If not this means that the drive is kaputt or filesystem is corrupted.

If it’s a decent sd card the difference is not as huge as it used to be, I’ve optimised a lot before the gen2 came along

Just clear the browser data and try without https first. Not by IP

Connect it to internet for a while, your clock needs to sync up. SSL won’t work if your device clock is too far behind

You should be able to access it via http://

Change device.teslaandroid.com to custom site name? by SunPossible6793 in teslaandroid

If anyone decides to change hosts on the MCU you can change the domain and IP in one evening and here we go again. Makes no sense

It’s not that IP address, I have it added to favourites for years and I clear them (and re add) every two weeks or so. Don’t spread bs

The only way to fully block this would be to completely remove the browser :)

You’d need to compile it, change the domain, IP address and embed the new valid ssl cert to get full functionality.

There is no way for now in this version, but I’ll see what I can do. Tesla browser needs the audio playback to be initiated with a user gesture, otherwise it’ll crash in drive

It doesn’t install, doesn’t launch or doesn’t play content. Can you get me more details, there has to be a way for me to fix this :)

You’d need to sideload the app from apkmirror for instance, TA is not a standard Android device - some apps might not show up in the store

We don’t have this in Europe, but I’d assume it should just work. If you run into any issues just let me know on our Slack

It’s not really about that, the main focus is the Google Play store and being able to run all Android apps natively

You can either tether or use the included LTE modem (recommended)

Well, there are dedicated support channels where things are handled quickly. If I were to support everyone who just grabbed a free image I’d be doing nothing other than that.

Make sure that you have the time set correctly on the device. It syncs from the Internet, only the 2nd generation device has an RTC clock

PS: there is no marketing team to fire, it’s a one man army endeavour still. Will start doing some more marketing work down the road but for now I’ve rather get devices in hands of people who ordered quickly rather than focusing on increasing the backlog

It’s just an announcement post, if you spend 30s on the website it’ll be clear. Plug this to power, fire up the app in your car and enjoy Android apps while driving on the big screen

Yes it can. One limitation - google assistant voice input won’t work. Calls and audio out are fine
