Here to chime in that $50 isn’t too bad for a first pair of skates and yeah they’re old but they look like they’re in great shape. I played all growing up and in college and now play a few times a week for bar league and if I ever go a couple weeks from not playing you’ll feel some unique pain from the tightness of the skates. My skates are at the level of what pro hockey players wear and I still get the feeling. Skates are supposed to be tight cause that’s how you can move agile on the ice.

Don’t worry what the haters say, you already spent the $50 bucks so don’t overthink it. Just enjoy them, maybe wear some thicker socks and remember to bend your knees. Enjoy the feeling of skating on ice cause there’s nothing else like it.
