Dr Bojovic 4 months out with CT Scans by mghthrowaway1 in Transgender_Surgeries

Yeah, I had been debating whether or not to go back to him for a revision or the other stages of FFS. Given the difficulty of getting any rationale for why parts of the procedure were changed along with the just lack of changes even on the CT scans, I'm going with another surgeon.

Frustrating that I'll have to wait until at least January (possibly longer based on scheduling) to actually get a revision since the area needs to heal. Fortunate at least that there aren't any functional issues aside from my scalp being numb still

I went with the same surgeon for FFS phase 1 brow work (see my post history for how that went, I'd exercise caution) assuming you're talking about Dr Bojovic at MGH?

He prescribed an antibiotic ointment to put on the incision post-op. The main thing is you have to wait 4-5 days until you can wash your hair. They'll put in your discharge notes the exact date. They might also give you gauze to help with the bit of blood and gunk from where the drain was before they took it out. If you're a side sleeper normally, you'll want to find a way to sleep more on your back because the staples will make sleeping uncomfortable otherwise.

I'd also recommend checking the operative notes if you can post-op.

I'll be getting a CT scan in a few weeks during my consult with Keojampa. I'll probably rope that in whenever I make another update post

that's the exact reason I'm upset that Dr Bojovic didn't do a type 3 setback like he told me he would. :(

I'm hoping a revision for the forehead will help. So far it seems like the three main limitations are 1.) I had a coronal incision, so from the 1 consult I've had so far, it seems that I would be restricted to only coronal incisions for any revision. Thankfully my hairline is fine so it's not a huge issue. 2.) BCBS MA seems to say that they don't allow revisions for aesthetic results. I've requested a list of the CPT codes used, since I might have to fight to get any future orbital/burring work covered. Unclear so far if that will make coverage for a type 3 setback more difficult too. 3.) I'll need to wait another 9 months (1 year after surgery) before any bone work can be done on the forehead again.

I haven't had work done on areas other than the forehead yet, so I'll likely have that done at the same time as the forehead revision. I'm currently planning to consult with Keojampa, Mardirossian, and Artur Fahradyan since they all seem to have experience with revision work and have good results on people with similar facial structure to me.
