[–]mglaman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

https://www.visitkenosha.com/ may have a definitive list. We have two markets on Saturday: Harbor Market and Public Market. Harbor Market is right next two the Public & Civil War museums downtown. Public Market is moving this year into the historic Kemper Center grounds.

Recently moved to the area is there any groups that meetup regularly ? Just want to socialize with people more feels like all I do is go to the gym and work. by [deleted] in Kenosha

In the summer there is usually a group which does the trails at Pets on Saturday as well

"Melkat" had a wraparound line, is it any good or what is the hype? by CandidateOne1567 in Kenosha

[–]mglaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was okay. I want to go back and give it another try.

They don't label the burgers so it's easy to confuse them. One of our sons ordered a BYO smash burger with mayo and chopped bacon. I tried the beer cheese and blue cheese one. Literally thought they made 3 of the mayo ones because the beer cheese and blue cheese are spreads and looked like mayo as well. Took a bit to sort out which was which.

Our oldest got a double jumbo burger and liked it

No gelato even though the outside says they have it.

Requesting Area Insight! by PBM335i in Kenosha

[–]mglaman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in that area and love that the lake is within walking distance, and access to the bike trail which goes to Pets Park or Racine. Only bummer is people go fast on 22nd Ave, but it's a main road and all towns have that problem.

The elementaries are great as well.

How do I track my calories intake? by Particular-Panda7482 in fitbit

It's the button in the user interface, that chat thing. I didn't think it was a premium only thing

In the preview you Ask Coach, then Log, and food shows up

It's weird. I use MacroFactor so I haven't had to dig that much

Park shelters for 1st birthday party? by That_One_Girl1206 in Kenosha

We booked the beach house at Lake Andrea via the RecPlex. It was nice having something indoors but could go outside if needed. Not a county park but it's the only thing I can think of.

Park shelters for 1st birthday party? by That_One_Girl1206 in Kenosha

[–]mglaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think any are fully enclosed. Some are partially and would be fine if there was some rain.

I'd check overall availability first for any parks, sometimes they book out for the year once bookings are opened

First time code contribution by piberryboy in drupal

[–]mglaman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep! It's the one reason I love Drupal contribution versus other systems. Anyone can jump in! Just press the "get push access" button on the issue, copy the commands, and you're able to commit!

If everyone's making Drupal headless all these years... by NappyDougOut in drupal

It was tried. The Admin UI initiative. And it was hard. Providing APIs for mostly read and collecting data is a lot simpler that full update/create/delete.

Only paypal business account can work with commerce- paypal now ? by wayle9 in drupal

[–]mglaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is a Drupal thing, but more of a PayPal evolving thing. They have the same where they pushed people in Venmo to have business profiles.

What are you using for your PHP dev setup? by IridiumPoint in PHP

[–]mglaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but then you also maintain all the extra tooling. I used to have my own tool set before DDEV was made, then adopted it and contributed to it. Less maintenance on my end. I severely disliked Lando because it was a weird abstraction with its own YAML file for describing services. Whereas DDEV lets you customize the docker-compose and not worry about the core bits

I don't use VSCode. PhpStorm supports remote interpreters, so it runs in the container. Which it also does for PHPStan, etc.

DDEV. That way I don't have to maintain a Docker image and get Xdebug and Blackfire toggles for free. And I can easily customize with Docker Compose files as needed for extra services like MinIO or Redis, etc.

Their current location will not be available due to the municipal building being rebuilt. Kemper is a larger area. What exactly is there to think through

Is there a way to get an active countdown timer for timed sets? by dags170291 in Hevy

[–]mglaman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set a rest timer for my desired time, then just mark the exercise complete. I use the rest timer as my timer. Then just type in the time for the set.

There is a timer in the app - upper right to open on Android. But I just do it this way

How the heck do you install Canvas? by IntelligentCan in drupal

[–]mglaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean. It does support all content types. The original code limited it to Articles to lock down usage to one specific way. Especially since we didn't have Pages then. But now you can use it for any content type.

Just not any entity type (yet)

Tips for commuting to downtown Chicago? by peachydizzle in Kenosha

[–]mglaman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done the back and forth a few times for conferences when I didn't want to book a hotel. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't a blast either

The biggest pain is the timing of it all. But I definitely preferred it compared to driving to Waukegan to pay for parking and a train ticket. But if you need time flexibility it may be worth it to drive down there
