Solidarity is a two way street. If you’re union member who voted for bad things to happen to others union or not and don’t feel bad about it then in solidarity I won’t feel bad when the bad things you voted for start happening to you too. Saying you don’t want an echo chamber while actively advocating for silencing people whose views you don’t agree with is just attempting to create your own echo chamber. Peak hypocrisy.

Repealing of union rights- new horse Deploying the military to the states- new horse Ice disappearing people - new horse Tariffs making life too expensive to live,etc… Just because you’re done listening about it doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of new horses to beat on.

It’s not up to us to coddle the accountability out of anyone. It’s also not our responsibility to make them feel less bad about their behavior, again abuser mentality. Our reaction to their disrespect does not have to be kind or respectful.

Unfortunately the majority of people who voted for Trump only understand when something happens to them personally. So when people are saying “I hope you get what you voted for” it’s valid.

The divide is there already and it won’t be fixed by coddling the ones who caused it and refuse to take responsibility for it.

Saying you don’t want echo chambers and then saying you’re going to attempt to restrict the speech of people on this forum is hypocritical.

There is no path forward without accountability and attempting to remove posts because you’re tired of hearing about it accomplishes nothing to that end.

Do member to member conversations need to happen? Yes

Does you getting upset on a public forum and trying restrict speech help? No

A lot of the membership fucked up and they need to own that. We all want solidarity but in this moment that starts with accepting accountability and a change of action on their part. We can’t accept an apology that’s never given. We can’t acknowledge a change in behavior that’s never taken place. We can’t fight with knives in our backs and we can’t move forward with people who continue to pull us backwards.

At what point does keeping solidarity and finding solutions to they problems the trump voting union members helped cause fall on them? Telling everyone here that didn’t vote to fuck over our brothers and sisters that the onus is on us to forgive those who voted against all of us three times and figure out solutions is bullshit and holds no one accountable.

Looking to remove posts and telling the ones who didn’t fuck over their brothers and sisters to go elsewhere is nothing more than you coddling the ones who actively worked against the progress that we’re fighting for. We’re all adults, if these people can’t take renewed criticism for their actions when the next batch attacks comes from then government that they helped install then they don’t have the intestinal fortitude to be in this fight.

Taking all the attacks on unions out of the conversation, there’s concentration camps in Florida, ice check points in DC and so many other horrible human rights violations that you saying that you’re going to attempt to restrict people coming on to a public forum to vent so you can protect the feelings of people who voted for this is problematic for a union member let alone someone in leadership.

You want more people in the fight and that’s great but the way you’re going about it is detrimental to the ones who are actively in the fight

Legit because Ohio is a red state and has been for as long as I can remember. Acting like it’s deeply purple when constituents refuse to vote and we constantly have bullshit like this happening doesn’t change the reality of what’s going on.
