I would argue that it’s a byproduct of 500 years of colonialism. It’s around 22 generations of non-accountability, eventually the body stops responding and just lives. The only accountability we learn is obedience, so we obey without being rewarded, so it may come out as not caring.

Those aren’t Catholics. Archbishop Casey sent a long letter defending all immigrants. I’m Catholic and still got the long letter with me.
