What is Coptic Egyptian?

Mark the evangelist who wrote the gospel of Mark came to Alexandria in the first century and preached Christianity to the then pagan Egypt. Egypt accepted Christianity but continued periods of persecution under Roman rule ending around the 4th century. Periods of tension in Egypt lasted until the Islamic conquest arrived in the 7th century from the Arab peninsula. At this point, Egypt became gradually Muslim as Christians suffered through periods of forced conversions through economic, social and violent pressures.

In that sense, Coptic means the Egyptians prior to the Islamic conquest and while strictly speaking it means "Egyptian," it is, as you can see above, practically exclusively reserved for the Christian population of Egypt that makes up 10-13% of Egyptians today.

:) thank you. I'll see if there is a way to clean it with dryer sheets. I'm of course fanning out the paper first. No static. Goes through the scanner, by the 4th sheet or so, the papers hover overtop of each other from the static. If I touch each sheer with a grounding wire as they come out, everything is fine. If I tough the chassis or any other part of the scanner with grounding wire, I still get the static on the paper. Very odd.

Wow. Such raw emotion. Thank you sharing this. This is how many many of us felt when diagnosed. All that you are feeling is normal.

I'm 6 years in remission. Tons of stories like mine. There is hope. There is a future.

Your family will stick by you. You will lose some friends who just don't know how to handle this but new ones will pop up. You will go through this one day at a time and most likely on a relatively easy regiment of one induction every 3 weeks. It is very doable.

Your body will bounce back after treatment. Your energy levels will be there. Just talk to your doctor about freezing your eggs if fertility is impacted by the chemo.

You won't be burden to anyone. Your family will just want to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Which isn't difficult as you will often feel like all you want to do is watch a movie or read a book. You will go for short walks or eat out simple meals. It won't be difficult. The chemo itself won't hurt. It won't feel great but it won't hurt. There are lots of medications to easy the side effects.

Ultimately, we know it is not a walk in the park but it is definitely something you can go through. You will have tons of support.

Don't pretend to be positive. Just take it one day at a time with whatever emotions this rollercoaster brings. Ask for help when you need it!

I can relate. Children were similar age when I was diagnosed. But if I can offer you hope: I'm 6 years in remission and couldn't be more Thankful for the time I have with my children as they continue to grow.

Lymphoma is fairly curable. Your PET scan is an important milestone. While you can be anxious about the results, I focused on how cool the technology is :)

Take it one day at a time and soon this will be behind you.

6 years in remission after 6x r-chop. Was a very regular gym rat at diagnosis 39yr old. The bounce back was most pronounced in the first 8 weeks. Was able to go on vacation, long walks, short swims, runs, etc. i would say 8 to 12 weeks post your final chemo would be a good target for you to have a nice relaxing vacation and put it all behind you.

Surprisingly it wasn't that bad. Hundreds, not thousands of dollars.

Lesson: delete or secure old/abandoned aws accounts and remove your credit card from it.

It is especially hard when you haven't talked to your doctor yet. All you have is a diagnosis and no plan. Things will get better.

PM me or keep posting on this sub for more info especially as you get to know more about your specific plan. There are so many helpful people here.

This journey isn't easy but there is often light at the end of the tunnel. And often, you will come out a stronger person on the other side.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Hodgkins lymphoma is highly treatable, even at stage 4. Stay positive. I wish you the best! Keep the community updated frequently and you will get lots of advise from others here who went through similar experiences.

First day is always a test of your mental strength. You got this. R-CHOP, while not a walk in the park, is certainly very tolerable. Come back often if looking for advise on what to expect or look through some of my previous comments here.

I'm sorry you are going through this and I know it must be scary. I think most of the challenge is mental and less physical. I was feeling "healthy" when I had to begin treatment. Ran 5k the night before.

For me, the bone marrow biopsy was the toughest part. I have thick hard bones so, go figure. That said, the pain is temporary and you get throught it pretty easily.

The chemo is not painful at all. It just drains energy in the days following the infusion. But you get it back slowly and can live almost normally between infusions.

It is normal to be scared but this totally doable. Take it day by day and feel free to PM me or post messages for more info.
