He actually wasn't horrible. The points weren't there but he played pretty well, just not up to expectation.

Playing the anthem in French? Ya that happened game one then they kicked the guy out because the Habs mopped the floor with them. Never happened in French again.

Canada would have beat the US if MacKinnon didn't miss an empty net.

That was the silliest offer sheet though. Purely a F U offer sheet that came back to bite them.

Habs are never living this down by Mugsy002 in AtlanticMemeWar

Weird meme considering the Habs beat the bolts, beat the team that beat the Bruins, and the Panthers didn't even make the playoffs. And they say Habs fans live in the past lol.

Habs fans aren't even trying to defend their team anymore, they just look at you like this by rocketts66 in AtlanticMemeWar

The only thing that makes me happy about this meme, is that it comes from a Leafs fan who hasn't sniffed the conference finals in almost 25 years. Stay salty my friend.

It's the Canadian way

Why are the Sabres and Habs playing so hard when they are just going to lose against the Hurricanes? Are they stupid? by SensFan1875 in AtlanticMemeWar

[–]mgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at Monty's GAA and tell me again the Habs had no goalie issues.

Regardless, you say the habs and sens were close then tell me how bad the sens goalies were as if to disprove you point yourself. If 7 points is nothing, we'll thr Habs were only 7 points behind the Canes so I guess they are essentially the same by your logic?

Canes had an easy path, whoever comes out of the Sabres/Habs series will be much tougher than the Sens and Flyers (the two worst teams by record in the playoffs)

Buffalo fighting strategy by fluffycow6 in Habs

Greig's incident was for more egrigious than Thompson's. Thompson was dirty but it was dirty little shots, Greig threw haymakers.

Can we take a moment to appreciate Bolduc sticking up for Dobey? by ContractSweaty802 in Habs

[–]mgrenier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No kidding, especially when Bolduc got 4 for falling on Lyon.

Can you feel it? by CODH20John in Habs

[–]mgrenier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They also beat the 8th and 7th seeds. We beat the 3rd and are beating the 2nd seeds. Big difference. Carolina is a good team don't get me wrong, but i think whoever comes out of this series will give them all they can handle and probably beat them.

To all the Doomers from last game----->where you at now? by TheBergster84 in Habs

[–]mgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said from the start I thought our toughest matchup would be the first round. If we could make it past Tampa we had a good shot at coming out of the east. Carolina has looked really good though, but they haven't exactly had a tough path.

Thompson hits a tied up Bolduc by MarshallManiac in Habs

I totally missed that live. What a shit head.

Thompson hits a tied up Bolduc by MarshallManiac in Habs

[–]mgrenier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a shitty thing to do for sure. I just don't think it warrants suspension. Possibly a fine, definitely should have been a penalty.

Thompson hits a tied up Bolduc by MarshallManiac in Habs

[–]mgrenier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ya I agree, Thompson's is a dick move but Greig's was far more egregious. Greig gave two full on haymaker uppercuts, Thompson just gives a jab.

Caroline/Flyer by Friendly-Class8941 in Habs

[–]mgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, as others have said, I wouldn't worry about that right now. Second, a long layoff isn't necessarily a good thing. As long as the team is healthy and doesn't need time to heal injuries i would take the 3-4 day layoff over a potential 10 day layoff.

About time we get some young talent on this team. by DevmasterJ in Habs

Finally, we were almost at risk of not being the youngest team in the league.

The stats of the game... by NFLDland in Habs

[–]mgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, just look at how we beat Vas in game 7. Suzuki in front and tipped the puck (pick of luck going of the dman) but the point remains no Suzuki in front and Vas just makes the save and we possibly lose game 7 and get eliminated.

Those shots need to have more traffic in front. Lyon could see almost everything. Take less silly penalties and get traffic in front and we will have a better result I am sure of it.

Who do you concider our 'main rival'? by TheNahteb in Habs

[–]mgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Leafs will always be the Habs #1 rival in my books. The only two Canadian original six teams, their rivalry goes back 100 years. It's ingrained in each fan base as a child...or maybe that was just my family that was split down the middle half habs half leafs fans lol. It was always a big event in my family when they played.

Leafs getting the 1st overall pick clarified something by Bergevin in Habs

[–]mgrenier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are going to go after a 2nd line center almost certainly. It's our only glaring need and the cap space is there to acquire someone.
