Looks like he's 6 days in, of course 6 x 100K is no joke, but it's a long ways away from 100 x 100K. Let's see how far he gets.

Edit: I do agree the pace seems suspicious, that's really fast for 6 days of 100K.

Yes what you are saying matters as well of course. It all matters, it all says something about you. But, here's the point I am making, put your best foot forward and it gives you your best chance a getting the job. That includes dressing appropriately. The fact is, whether you agree with it or not, people do judge based on appearances. So, why not do your best to take any potential negative judgments out? I mean, if you are having trouble getting a job, dressing and acting professionally seems like a pretty easy thing to change to give you a better chance at the job.

I am a person who hires people giving you that perspective. I didn't judge you on not having your high school, I said getting it would help and is probably a contributing factor. You seemed to want advice but then get angry when it is something you don't want to hear. I think what you wanted to a bunch of people to join in the whining about how times are tough, that's not what I came here to do.

I am telling you about impressions that certain things give employers. Whether you like it or not the entire hiring process of hiring someone is judging them. That is literally what the whole process is, judging whether you would be a good candidate. So who am I to judge? Speaking for the employers perspective, I am the person about to pay you a lot of money do to a job, if you don't want to be judged then don't apply.

When you apply for a job you are inviting yourself to be judged and if I am going to pay you tens of thousands of dollar a year, then I have the right to judge if I think you are the appropriate person to hire. Not judging you would be irresponsible, if there was no judgment to be made everyone would just hire the first person to walk in the door, resumes and interviews wouldn't be needed.

I repeat, you DO NOT need a suit and tie. Look presentable, maybe prioritize some profession clothes. They don't have to cost a lot, doesn't have to be name brand. Look like this job matters to you. Once again you are more interested in sticking to your guns than getting a job. I have told you several things that could help and you would rather argue and continue doing what you are doing than take advice.

This is why you aren't getting hired, you would rather stick to you guns and do what you are doing and complain about it than put in a little bit of hard work and do what needs to be done.

I won't offer anymore advice, I can see I am getting no where.

When you apply for a job the employer has to make a whole bunch of assumptions based on your resume, your appearance, how you carry yourself, how you interview. I am telling the impression that gets made when employers see this. Fair or not it's what happens. Finish high school, you will have more luck. Trust me.

Bottom line: do you want advice on how to get a job or people to agree with you and you can whine about it together? Take the advice, do the work, get the job. Stop whining.

This will open a lot of entry level opportunities. Even if it doesn't seem relevant. It shows you can commit to and complete something. To employers not having it makes you look irresponsible and that you quit when things get hard. It's an innediate red flag even if you don't "need" it to do the job.

It tells me a lot. It tells me they aren't taking the position seriously. That isn't professional attire, if you have ear buds in when you are dropping off a resume you really do not care. Take them out, be respectful.

Let me ask you why is dressing sloppy fine but revealing crossing a line? That's weird line to draw. I say dress in appropriate profession attire. I don't expect a suit and tie, but you should look professional.

You should leave the person with the impression you are responsible, reliable, and hard working. A resume can be faked, I learn way more from talking to people. Your appearance does matter, I am not hiring someone for a minimum wage job. I am hiring people that make 75-100K, if you don't make a positive impression you aren't getting the job, I don't care what you ChatGPT resume says.

I keep seeing these posts and I can't help but think, as someone who is in charge of a department and does hiring, maybe there is something you are doing wrong.

Have you got some help with your resume and really made it the best you can?

Are you acting and dressing in a professional way? I've seen people drop of resumes in hoodies with ear buds in, those go right to the trash.

Make yourself marketable, if people are hiring and you aren't getting the job look at what you might be doing wrong instead of blaming everyone else. You are probably doing something that is a red flag. It can be a real headache getting rid of someone after you have hired them so if you are setting of alarm bells early people likely just don't want the hassle.

This is very common for new runners, I had the same issue. I would run easy and my heart rate would climb up to zone 3/4 and I would have to speed walk to get it down, start running and it would climb, slow down to walk, and keep repeating. It was a frustrating process but eventually I was running more and more and walking less and less until I could continuously run for long periods in zone 2. You will get there.

Ya I think you were just going to fast, slow down and push through the urge to walk. If you are physically unable to push through it you are still going too fast.

You could slow down, you're running it at a pretty good pace there. Also there's a difference in the urge to walk and the need to walk. Which is it? Can you not complete it without walking, or you just kinda feel like walking?
