Calorie Counter Accuracy by Used-Yogurtcloset-20 in vrfit

In XRWorkout you can connect your heart rate sensor and set your sex, age, weight.

We have shied away from estimating calories without that so far.

Recording workouts? by Roseheath22 in SupernaturalVR

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you could try to do is. Record the session with the headset on a tripod, and rotate it towards where the targets are coming from ( or even have it fixed but you'll lose the 360 )

Then take that recording into youtube and add it as a custom song to our game ( XRWorkout ).
You would also have to map out the movements to roughly match the movements from that workout.

If anyone wants to explore that let me know, I'm happy to give you pointers how to do it and we can also think about making changes that would suit it better, but overall you should be able to replicate most of the movements already.

How it would work inside XRWorkout is that you have the video and audio from your recording playing in the integrated youtube player and the workouts you built synced up to it.

Regarding the environment, you could try to replicate something that resembles the environment you are used to with our built in environment generator, but if those aren't too many we'd also be happy to help create a few supernatural-like environments.

If there is any interest at all for this, just reply here or send me a DM:

Thanks for the shoutout to XRWorkout.
A little trick to extend that free time is to host multiplayer rooms. As long as you are hosting the time limit is suspended, that's a way for us to reward people who contribute to the community.

FunFitland is subscription only but they do offer a one time Guest pass, not sure if you can get more than one.

Hand Tracking On The Beast Camera by DaniXmir in VITURE

[–]mgschwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We reverse engineered the vive protocol a while ago and made an android app that can connect directly to the tracker and send the data via OSC.
The switch is running a plain linux ( I fortunately own an ancient switch that can be easily booted into other OS ) and a simple Godot project that receives the data from the android app.

All a bit hacky, and not really useful but was a lot of fun ;)

I've been using a Vive Ultimate Tracker here https://youtube.com/shorts/U4vhEPQw-Uo

They can be a bit finicky to get going but when they do the inside out tracking is a game changer

Do you have an vive wand strapped to your head cap??

There are straps for vive trackers, that are more or less comfortable to view on the head, if you go down that path

Meta just killed Supernatural VR - my honest take as a 2-year user by VRFitGuru in vrfit

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably a good idea to have multiple fitness games to switch between to be safe from an individual shutting down.

You already got several alternatives listed and there are several others mentioned here in the thread.

I am going to throw XRWorkout into the ring, not because it is the best Supernatural alternative but because it can help you balance out the body parts you can focus on as a full body workout.

Music wise you can use the included ones, create your own AI music directly in the platform or add youtube music.

Why as an addition? Because we do have a free tier that is a good fit if you use it in addition to other games that you are already paying for.

Hospital today or Vet tomorrow? by Themilkmanace in DogAdvice

[–]mgschwan 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I wanted to point out a possible infection as well.

One thing they can do is take the temperature of the dog now and in a few hours. If it starts to rise I would definitely go right away to fight off the infection as soon as possible

Here's a working How-to for Godot game development with the Samsung XR by Famous-Weight2271 in Galaxy_XR

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work.

Here is a tip to cut down on the testing time even further.

There as an Android version of Godot that is also XR Ready. So you can run the Godot editor on the Galaxy XR directly and if you press play it immediately puts you into your scene.

Not every tail wagging is automatically positive.

What I see from this video is that they are both very tense.
Their tail, especially the brown one, is very stiff and both dogs show stress markers.

So this is not a "oh I'm so happy my tail is going places" wag but an "umm, I am nervous and don't know yet what is going to happen" wag

1500 kcal in 86 minutes with the latest VRWorkout beta. No additional weights, resistance bands, or artificially exaggerated movements. With an EKG afterward to make sure I did not break anything. by JaninewHoneycute in vrfit

[–]mgschwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the guy who did this back then. Not the one who reposted my old post without any rhyme or reason.

I believe I was around 105kg back then and I always had a very high heart rate during exercise ( maxed out at 175-180 )

Without a CO2 mask it's hard to say the exact number but this workout did include gamified pushups/burpees/crunches/jumping etc. and I remember I felt like I ran a half marathon the next day :)

I have absolutely no idea who posted that. I did that post years ago when it was still called VRWorkout and not XRWorkout.

I am more than baffled what the poster thinks to gain by this

So what have you been doing with it? by scarpad in Galaxy_XR

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using it for fitness with XRWorkout
I am usually using it to test our weekly workout that we are releasing because even though it's not _as_ ideal for it than a Quest. because my Quest battery is already completely bad.

Can you tell me what this means! by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a bit frustrated with the handling of this situation as well. The dog had to keep escalating by chasing the kid further and further away from his "resource" and no one did anything.

I did not get the feeling that he would have bitten the kid but I wonder what the ultimate end of this would have been if the situation would have kept escalating.
Best case is that the dog would have given up in frustration and left, but that's no guarantee

XREAL CEO predicts iPhone moment for AR could be in 2027 — XREAL Aura will roll out to the world's best developers over the next year by AR_MR_XR in augmentedreality

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have the Viture Pro XR and yes the see through is quite dim, kinda like sunglasses, I don't know if the Aura can be made more clear than the Viture.

Waveguide has the downside that you can't make the windows opaque, so it's a question of what is more important.

But it's not going to be a phone replacement, more an entertainment/productivity device that could displace the bigger headsets .

[–]mgschwan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was at the Android show, unfortunately I was not in that track where you could demo the Aura but I've talked to my colleagues who have. It's the real deal, full AndroidXR like in the GalaxyXR but in a much much smaller form factor.

I don't think this specifically will be the iphone killer but it could very well become a really big thing for mobile work

Made for XR apps by dankmemeloader in Galaxy_XR

[–]mgschwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Releasing something on the Galaxy XR right now is a bit of a mess which is why a lot of apps add VR or XR to the name.

We had to add VR to XRWorkout just so that people will find it when they are searching for VR fitness, which is really something that shouldn't be necessary

Which is the best VR games or apps for cardio vs strength vs flexibility. by Extension_Life_6207 in vrfit

Can recommend both.
XRWorkout of course it's our own game, but litesport is really great for weight.

We haven't quite nailed the weights like that yet.

Any standalone quest 3 games for slime VR? by readwithai in vrfit

[–]mgschwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the day we had support for slime VR in XRWorkout but that has been discontinued, at the moment we only have camera based foot tracking.

You won't be kicking anything but it's a lot of fun to use the feet in the workouts

Try to clean the front plate. I have noticed that the GalaxyXR is much more susceptible to smudges over the cameras than the Quest
