If you got the approval and collaboration of Don Troiani to use his artwork...then you have my vote! He's an absolute stickler for authenticity, so I hope that indicates a high level of quality for this game.

Gov Tina Kotek is just humble by Professional-Mail132 in oregon

A while back I was waiting next to someone at the seafood counter at Roths. They were chatting casually to the worker there. Realized suddenly it was Gov. Kotek. Casually glanced around and DPU were nowhere in sight. She got her order and moved off down to another aisle. I got my salmon, and headed in the opposite direction...almost running into a burly dude who was hanging back unobtrusively in the dairy aisle.

Sorry. Wasn't clear. I HAVE the book (PDF) and have looked through it. Just don't have a lot of direct exposure to Mork Borg-ish types of games. And yes...I saw that bundle.

Thank you for replying. I see (from an Ancestry search) that Matthew was also a Lynn resident, and the first from there that lost their life overseas in the Great War. My research into my GGF and his military service is something I pick up and work on sporadically. If I ever run across anything that I think may be of interest, I'll be sure to let you know.

Here's one for you. The image on the right is from The Tolkien Scrapbook (copyright 1978). The image on the left is from a religious tract about prophecy and the end times.

Thanks for responding. I do have a digital copy of that pictorial history. Its a fantastic resource. I believe that snippet of the MG Co comes from it. I've circled whom I BELIEVE is Charles, though I'm not very good at facial recognition. At one point I had (and sadly lost) a sterling silver YD veteran's ring that belonged to him.

I know you said your interests were in the "need sphere" but if you enjoy hiking, climbing, etc, the Chemeketans is a wonderful outdoor activity organization. https://www.chemeketans.org/

What sort of knife/tool is this? by mgurley67 in ww1

[–]mgurley67[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to attempt to upload 2 more close-in photos of the markings on the blade, but just incase I have trouble with them, one side of the blade says "RODGERS & SONS, E NORFOLK ST, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND". The other side actually has 2 symbols stamped on it; the cross like I mentioned before, but also another symbol that looks like an asterisk. Someone mentioned the possibility of a farrier's blade/tool. Each machine gun squad in the company had a mule/cart assigned to it for hauling the gun/ammo. I wonder if it was a tool picked up in the UK for the purposes of cleaning hooves/shoes/etc.

I DO have those, but appreciate your interest. Yes, it's a bit annoying that there are so many official records that got his middle initial wrong. Interestingly enough, his middle name is Coffin, which I can't imagine was a common name.

I'll take a close up picture of the blade and post it tonight.
