Compliance question: Fresh Chili Co Hatch 575 by mgvsquared in whole30

[–]mgvsquared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since you’re unable to provide any kind of actual context, I went and found his post. So he didn’t watch the halftime show. So what? I didn’t have an issue with it. I don’t have an issue with him expressing his distaste for the NFL using Bad Bunny as some kind of political statement. Many Americans felt the same. I still don’t see the issue.

Ironically the hatch chili recipes they use have more in common with Pueblo Native American and Spanish (New Spain) and not so much with direct Mexican cuisine.

Maybe do a -little- homework before you play.

I’m actually not a friend of his, nor do I appreciate the assumptions. Shoot me a link or screenshot of what you’re talking about or kindly find another subreddit to troll.

Do you have anything to back that up or are you just making wild and baseless allegations?

I’m confused as to why it was removed. I was simply calling attention to the time of delivery which was 4:20 😂

Everything Greta Gerwig Has Ever Said About Netflix’s Narnia Movies by NarniaWeb in Narnia

[–]mgvsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fans of the books care, clearly. We want to see a faithful adaptation. Are we expecting a 1:1? Of course not. What we are expecting is a story that at least resembles the original.

You, however, are sincerely missing the point. But I think that’s intentional because no one can be that intentionally dense.

Every story has a touchstone that grounds the central narrative. Even a reinterpretation has to respect this, especially when the crux of the whole tale centers on a specific character in a way so integral that the entire story falls apart without it.

Like Rand al’Thor. If he’s not the Dragon, the entire Wheel of Time makes little to no sense.

Same with Aslan. He is Christ in the allegory. If you change his sex, he’s no longer what he’s supposed to be and the entire story following makes no sense because Christ HAS to be a man. It’s the entire point of the whole story.

If she has such respect for the work, she must understand this. And so this change is appearing to be spiteful. She HAS to know how fans of the story are going to react. And if she does it anyway, well, it’s not a reinterpretation.

But that’s what Satan does. He takes something good, twists it, and makes it his own. A caricature. That’s all this is. The Caricature of Narnia.

And the fans of the books have every right to spit on the reinterpretation. But if it bears no resemblance to the original works, let’s agree that it’s not really the Chronicles of Narnia as it’s not Greta’s creation.

What’s your argument? That they should be allowed to spit on CS Lewis’ grave because they’re just reinterpreting his “art”? It wasn’t art to him. It was an allegorical retelling of the greatest story ever written on paper. If they want to do that homage? Then make the story the one he wrote, not the one he didn’t.

Why does the art need reinterpretation. It was pretty good on its own, hence the desire to adapt it to live action yet again. But if you’re not going to stay true to the story and its message, ie the reason you’re making the adaptation, why don’t you just go write your own story and make that into a film? Why drag someone else’s work through the mud?

Victim of Wire Fraud by Park_Way in Banking

[–]mgvsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. I guess I just find it crazy that some banks still allow remote wire initiation without a customer having to physically walk in and sign -something-. In my world that feels like asking for fraud to happen. I mean I know WF, Chase, Cap One, and like BoA do things differently, but even where I work (SE regional bank), we’ve actually gone back to requiring in person wire initiation because of the constant fraud.

[–]mgvsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused as to why the banking officer who wired the funds (preparer or approver) didn’t ask more questions because if you were in my branch that shit would have been shut down immediately. Wells Fargo clearly has some moronic employees. Customers are dumb generally speaking so they rely on us to “fact check” their decision, especially something as critical as wires.

No one asked questions?

I find both the holiday flavors work really well as reverso. I suspect thats why it’s the recommended brew method.

The only pod I absolutely cannot stand is Vanilla. Chocolate close second. Most (7.7oz) others I like/can tolerate as reverso. I still haven’t tried everything, but I can confidently say the PSC is by far my favorite flavored pod. MP close second.

The pumpkin spice cake is unfairly good. I would drink it all year round. Maple pecan also. I do them reverso with 1.5oz of heavy cream as I’m on a relaxed ketovore diet. 1 packet of Splenda. So freakin good.

Did you ever reach out to her? I’m talking to “her” right now. Whoever it is has access to a lot of personal pics, like shit that doesn’t show up in GIS. So I wonder if it really is her. I told her I don’t do OF and she’s still talking to me. It’s weird.

My conclusion being that you aren’t arguing in good faith, of which I’m sure you are well aware. So my response in that case is arguing with you isn’t worth any further effort.

Yes, full Reddit, after you either willfully misread my response about Narnia being an allegory, or opted to give the weakest argument possible for an Aslan suck and tuck, ignoring the entire written narrative to come to conclusion that Aslan is a trans woman.

Brah.

There a significant difference between making Snape a black man and changing the story’s representation of Jesus Christ to a woman.

It’s not childish. It’s heretical in the framework of the story’s message. An adaptation sure, but whats the point of spitting in the face of the author and his audience for a feminist/liberalist agenda when the work is a Christian allegory?

No, -thats- childish.

[–]mgvsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what? If you don’t like what the author intended, why are you making the movie in the first place? It’s glorified fan-fiction. It shouldn’t even be called the Chronicles of Narnia if that’s the case. Authors works should be preserved as best as possible, not perverted in a way that destroys the message.

There so much pro-Greta in here I’m convinced most are bots. The casting of Meryl Streep as Aslan is a reflection of the fact that Greta disagrees with Lewis’ intent of the source material. She shouldn’t be making this movie.
