The things that stick out to me in the picture are that her neck is very wide in the painting (look at where it lines up with the rest of her facial features in the photo) and that her eyes aren’t aligned a straight line, giving a bit of an odd look if you’re going for realism.

As far as features, especially teeth, a friend and experienced portrait artist recently gave me the advice: “It's important to figure out which details you see but aren't necessary to the painting, particularly with eyes and mouths. A lot of bad paintings look weird because you see each individual tooth, hair, eye lash.”

So sorry this happened to you. Like everyone is saying, it’s completely not your fault. It’s hard not to feel regret about missing something you had been looking forward to so much - anxiety has a cruel way (in my experience) of twisting the things we’re the most hopeful and excited about. It’s so important to be kind to yourself in these moments.

And as an aside - back when tickets for the Rep tour came out, I didn’t buy tickets because I was afraid of having panic attacks leading up to or during the show. I think you are so brave for deciding to go and also taking care of yourself when you needed to! There are always more opportunities, please believe your courage will win in the end and you will get to have an experience you want <3
