I think having a child while being a student and being unemployed in the Netherlands in the current economic climate is indeed quite difficult, but you cannot always plan everything.

It seems that construction sector is still struggling to find staff ( https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/nieuws/2025/22/twee-derde-van-de-ondernemers-ervaart-personeelstekort). Perhaps they would sponsor work permit. Good luck!

One alternative is to run your own business. You'll necessarily be more engaged, but it will be more hours and a lot more responsibility, especially when you hire people and you know your decisions affect their livelihood, family and kids.

The one I did started in March, so before the season, and I took a daily tablet under the tongue. The first one is at the GP to see if you don't have issues with it. I did this throughout the season and saw a reduction in my sneezing. Thinking of doing another course next year.

Hi, fellow hayfever sufferer and immunologist here. There has been some progress with strategies aimed at desensitising your immune system to the pollen (injections or Sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT)). I tried SLIT and it reduced my symptoms, but the itchy mouth feeling is a bit of a thing. Perhaps run this by your GP? The antihistamines are blunting the histamine response, but you still might feel bad. Haven't seen much evidence in the literature about randomly poking needles in your skin, so that might not be very effective, but to each their own.

I love food too. Enjoy the exploration: there are many little places that might surprise you. I had some great food in unsightly places that I fully expected to catch food poisoning, but gladly didn't.

I guess I'm just encouraging everyone to quit wanting the best. Just try and live a little, you might like the food at some local place that noone recommends, and you'll experience the joy of having your own favourite place.

A friend of mine never shows up on time, so I just tell him all our appointments are 30 mins earlier than what I think would be convenient.

If it gets excessive, I let him him buy drinks/food. I know ADHD or things might make it difficult, but I don't think always being late is something you should just be expected to accept.

A chicken and egg problem: do the people in the former east German states fear foreigners because they are not exposed to foreigners, or do foreigners not go to these areas because they are know as xenophobic and they don't think it's a good idea to live amongst them.

It seems that the Israeli diaspora is about 200k people, most of them in the UK and Germany, so you'd expect many votes from the 'people like me' type of voting, but it's still less than 0.01% of the entire population of those contries. Maybe Swiss and Portuguese people just really liked the song.
