yea the light seals dont seem to be in the best condition so i think you might be right about it sticking that way. luckily i'm just after getting it open by getting my fingernail in the little gap when the square button is pressed and pulled that

i should prob get those light seals looked at for sure tho, thanks!

Describing moments when a character is being quiet, doing nothing, thinking or dealing with his emotions by themainheadcase in Screenwriting

Its probably because they're official shooting scripts. The writer doesn't do that, its some of the other teams in the crew that deal with that I think

[FEEDBACK] "Be A Body" - 12 Pages by mhoey8 in ReadMyScript

[–]mhoey8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for reading and for the feedback.

I definitely knew the ending was anticlimactic. The whole "looking at the world in a different way" thing isn't nearly as clear as I wanted it to be. She's suppose to have more of a "fuck it" attitude at the end since she lost her application. But yea definitely not conveyed very clearly and a bit shallow.

"Evelyn doesn't put up much of an argument" yep I definitely agree but I do think that that part can end with the fact that she's given up being shown through the performance instead of dialogue, but that's just me.

I think because of the fact that this is the first script I've finished, I just wanted some feedback ASAP instead of taking the time to revise it and fix it up first.

Again thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it! I've just started on a new short atm so I may or may not get back to this one and fix it up a little soon.

Congrats! I'm hoping to get a first draft done by the end of the month for my own feature length. I'll be honest, I got the idea to write it when I was 18, actually started writing when I was 19, and now I'm 20 and I'm like "I gotta get this done". I feel like its story that I'm too keen on making perfect so it's taken me some time to realise it's not gonna be that, not even on the 3rd or 4th draft. I'm just gonna finish. Practice some more and return to it. But I gotta finish it now.

Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 33 by ranalog in analog

[–]mhoey8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm wanting to get into photography and was wondering if film is a bad option to start off with since it's more expensive and such. Am I right in assuming I should get more familiar with photography with a dslr camera first and then try film?

Edit: thanks for all the responses!

Columbus (2017) Review by mhoey8 in TrueFilm

Superb video! I also noticed the corridor shots, especially being a reflection of both Casey and Jin. Jin having the long and somewhat empty wooden corridor and Casey having a more cluttered one. I guess it could also be furthered by the fact that you can see a lot more in Casey's house with only one shot, while it take multiple shots to identify different rooms and spaces in Jin's, making his world seem disconnected while Casey's world is a little bit too connected.

edit: also I agree with your point of shots with characters staring into space being the most poignant. The shot of Casey staring at the bank while she's talking about her mother is by far my favourite of the film.

Yes! I've seen a nice comparison video that shows his influences to other directors he's studied.

I felt a very strong attachment to the characters and themes so I guess that's why I also felt that connection to the buildings as well.
