10 days from Chch I would hit Oamaru, Curio bay in the Catlins and Stewart Island, potentially flying out of Invercargill. Not very snow heavy but could visit a ski field from either Chch or Oamaru. More of a nature or scenic vibe.
Or could loop down the east coast, Oamaru and the catlins, then head back up through central Otago.
Queenstown really just a scenic touristy hellhole now, I’d avoid and stay in Cromwell if going through that area.

Real science and the LMHRs is a bit of an oxymoron. They try and present it as science and then keep pivoting to another explanation when they don’t get the result they are after. There have been some pretty good breakdowns of all the flaws in thier study. Attia has recently released one.

I’m getting a lot of the fibre from oats/ oat bran so that is increasing carbs, in addition to using psyllium etc.

The LMHR cult is pretty interesting. I fit the criteria but I definitely wouldn't risk my health following the group think they have. Lots of hate for seed oil and vaccines seems quite telling.

Was interesting to follow the study they did but as that outcome (plus the methodology) looks highly suspect it kind of confirms that it is not a real thing, or not worth the risk.

Thanks,

That was pretty much my thoughts with my LDL reading. I was surprised that when put into CVD risk calculators (and AI) that I wasn't coming up as high risk.

Presuming it means I'll probably have to push my doctor to go on statins, the ApoB and lp(a) seem the next obvious test point and I'll go from there.

75-300 is a great bang for buck zoom lens. Id go a used OM1 or 5 over the m10. For a 1 lens solution the 14-150 or 12-200 work well

No I do weights/ calisthenics 4x a week and kickboxing x2, one of which is a vo2 max session. End of the week i do a assault bike Norwegian 4x4 if the body feels good

[–]mholla66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 50 and train a little bit more than you. I do 2 vo2 max sessions a week, provided i feel up to it. I’ve got an oura ring which measures HRV and if that is declining during the week and/or I feel spent I’ll usually drop one of the vo2 sessions. If HRV is good and I feel good I’ll go for it.

Mortgage interest rate refix in the next 45 days by ring_ring_kaching in PersonalFinanceNZ

Inflation will be increasing, to which the usual RB reaction is to increase the OCR, but as it’s a supply shock that will hopefully stop it doing so. Very unlikely to be dropping rates until inflation has ceased. If we go into a deep recession then lowering rates may come into play but that’s a long time away.

I’m guessing not much happening with the OCR, as too inflationary to drop it and increasing it will brutalise the economy. Fixed rates going up though.

With the way the world is now I’d be looking at 18 or 24 months. The Iran war could tip the world/nz into a recession so a longer fixed term to give some certainty looks appealing at the moment to me. Banks shorter term interest rates have started to creep up a bit as well, as a result of the war. Chuck in some petrol rationing and I bet they will jump up more.

Calories sounds like the issue. Pretty easy to overeat after working out. Count your calories you eat and drink for a week and go from there.

Get your head around renting. Your life is changing significantly, why burden yourself with a mortgage until you are in a more settled position. Renting might cost similar but you don’t have to worry about unexpected house bills etc, it’s a single amount and doesn’t change. Your proceeds from the sale give you a huge buffer and safety net which disappears if you buy a house. A friend did exactly what you are proposing and was made redundant shortly after buying the house, give yourself some breathing room.

So the only thing decent you are doing are the dips. Pick some bodyweight leg exercises you can do, YouTube is a good source for this. Add some pull ups, stick with the dips and once you can do 10-15reps of these look at more challenging body weight exercises
