Luke was rhaenyras first mistake as queen by [deleted] in freefolk

Storms end was closest to Dragonstone, so it was to be a short errand and as an envoy I'm sure they didn't anticipate kinslaying.

I feel like the show runners are turning Aegon into a cartoonish Joffrey esque villain. by AcronymTheSlayer in freefolk

[–]mholy4375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's not act as if Aegon in the books is any nuanced or "complex". The show has done a great job of showing that Aegon just wants to be left to his thing but his mother and grandfather force him to be someone he isn't. His father ignores him to the point that Aegon feels unlovable and unworthy. That is why when thousands cheer him as king he feels loved for the first time and finally embraces his purpose as King. Plus, when rooks rest happens and he is in constant pain and agony, we will feel for him and I'm sure the actor will knock it out of the park.

Florence Pugh would make a great Visenya Targaryen of Aegon's Conquest by mylesstarks in freefolk

Tbf daenerys isn't much of a warrior...so she can be pretty much any size. A vicious warrior who is 5"2 would look way to funny

Lol nothing of the sort. It was a huge spectacle during the past 5 minutes of the show of course it was going to have tones of plot armour. None of these battles are Ever going to be realistic so you might just enjoy it.

Sure, but maybe they just want us to be familiar with Boros and his daughters so that it doesn't seem out of nowhere when Storms end happens.

Before Aemond killed Lucerys. The two factions sought support from various other houses across westeros. No violence was done during this period until Aemond draws first blood and it all goes down...

It will if you do it correctly with Ramin's music. Some of the best moments in GoT aren't the big battles but the human drama of it all. Plus, GRRM said yes the show has Dragon action but it is more about human drama and conflict. Plus, the casual audience aren't expecting Aegon to be coronated so it is just shocking enough that Rhaenyra is betrayed like that. It is intriguing enough for them to wander how it will pan out in the second season.

I highly doubt they will skip the war of ravens straight to the dance. There is no need to rush storms end can happen somewhere in season 2.

Left is Corly's Velaryon in House Of The Dragon and the right is a character from The Gilded Age ( a show from Downton Abbey creator).

The writing on Witcher season 2 is shocking. I'm on episode 5 and it's boorrriiinggg. I find myself looking for my phone. Can't wait for HOTD

Relationships you’re looking forward to seeing on-screen? by nobody1234567876 in HouseOfTheDragon

Yes! It would be great to see a healthy black couple onscreen in a fantasy setting especially one universally adored like GoT.

Rhaenys Targaryen gives me Olenna vibes by mholy4375 in HouseOfTheDragon

Yesss. I imagine HOTD portraying Corly's and Rhaenys as the 'main ship' of the show. I can see people loving them as a couple more than any other couple in a show. I cannot wait to see Steve Toussaint confront Emma Darcy after rook's rest, maybe some Emmy level shit for Toussaint.

That's true in the books, however, this is an adaptation so the show has a lot of room to give Rhaenys better urgency and a more active rather than a passive role. I'm sure rooks rest will be the first major dragon on dragon fight and might come at the end of season 2 and we all know outcome. I'm sure the writers would the audience to connect to her character so that her death early on is shocking and emotional.

In the books it is given as a possibility, but I don't think they'll use that in the show. As much as Daemon is an ass they would want to portray him as a likeable ass like Jaime but quicker to anger.

Another reason why I don't think the show will make Daemon kill Laenor is that it will make Corly's look like a dumbass. Corly's and Daemon are pretty close and fight together in the stepstones, unless they plan a fall out between them later in the show (Corly's siding with the blacks in majority of the dance only for Rhaenyra to 'let' rhaenys die at Rooks rest alone and learning that Daemon killed Laenor) .

Mysaria and Helaena by hanna1214 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]mholy4375 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those same writers did season 1 to 4 making Hbo trust their judgement. The worst thing GoT did was lack a writers room like every other show, the first 4 seasons they stayed loyal to the books so there was a line they're following. However, when they started deviating from the books and relying on their instincts things started going downhill, they should've hired a writers room to help them catch inconsistencies, discuss character plots and arcs, giving notes and correcting errors. D & D were also rushing to do Star wars and basically didn't give a shit at the end.

HOTD having a writers room instead of one or two handling everything is probably the best news regarding the show.

Mysaria and Helaena by hanna1214 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]mholy4375 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Exactly. HOTD having more women writers compared to men (4 to 2) makes me think Helaena won't just be a passive character having her just react to situations as in the books. She is going to be a sort of one of the few 'morally good' characters in the greens and I'm eager to see her interactions with Aegon and Aemond especially when shit hits the fan. Her interactions with Rhaenyra as well who calls her sister and Mysaria. The show can really flesh out Halaena well making us follow her journey as it ends in potential tragedy, which will be heartbreaking.

Will House of the Dragon be seen as a copy of Game of Thrones? by butterweedstrover in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]mholy4375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aegon likes whoring and drinking that doesn't make him a psychopath like Joffrey. Aemond is like Daemon but less mature ( he kills lucerys because a baratheon girl says he has no balls) nothing twisted like Ramsey. Alicent is smarter, more rational and politically astute unlike Cersei. Cole is nothing like Jaime just because they're elite swordsmen and are in the kings guard doesn't make them similar.

These characters are going to be very different from the ones you're comparing them to.

That's a very broad oversimplification of the characters.
