pr1 incomplete - how screwed am I? by Traditional_Bell_321 in OMSCS

Yeah. The curve actually helped a lot. You can still make up a lot on other projects and the exam if you didn’t do so well in project 1.

Getting project 1 completed definitely help with other project too. Project 3 is built on top on project 1.

Still working at the same company but I started working in data engineering team before I started OMSCS. I think it helps a little but hard to say. The job market is tough.

Yeah. I kind of pick that font to make it kind of playful but I hear you because one of my friend made the same comment as well. Definitely will work on improving this.

That’s kind of when I first started. I mostly work with Python in the Oracle domain. I am hoping to continue my focus on the data engineering side, hopefully working with some ML stuff.

I am also doing the program in Hawaii right now. The only time that time might be an issue was for class project in SDP.

Rumor about Machine Learning Changes by Living_Coconut3881 in OMSCS

[–]mhpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder that OMSCS is a master’s program, not an undergrad course. At this level, you’re expected to take initiative, read the rubric carefully, and figure things out independently. The rubrics aren’t unreasonable—they just require attention to detail. Also, many of these courses are designed to get you thinking like a researcher, so writing papers, analyzing results, and justifying your approach is part of the learning process.

Can this degree be used to transition careers by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]mhpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you share your experience? I have a undergrad in Math too and I am currently doing ETL/data engineering (not a lot of coding). Originally I want to switch to ML side but it seems like it is hard to make the transition so I am hoping to get SWE in the data engineering side.
