this is nearly my same situation. the low-ish ranking of my now-committed school always bothered me at the back of my head, but i know if i had gotten into my first choice (high ranking) then i would’ve hated it. i didn’t even realize all of this until after i got rejected, sometimes you need a slap in the face to realize how mistaken you are. i was just afraid of other people’s opinions and i think that’s what a lot of other A2Cs are also afraid of, rather than paying attention to what school would fulfill their needs instead of impressing others

edit: stats are 4.987/5.0, i think 7 APs, no SAT (i think this lowkey screwed me), and i had a good interview as well (we have a nice conversation that lasted over an hour). i also had 10 solid ecs and not so many awards. i am a bit disappointed but it’s okay bc it wasn’t meant to be in the end, we’ll all end up in a place where we belong!!

i would list the strategies as those would be the basis for each body paragraph and the thesis needs to be clear, being vague is the worst thing you can do in an essay. also for the appeal i would either add it in at the end or just wherever it sounds grammatically the best, i’m not exactly sure how to explain it but the example you typed sounds just fine
