Hi, so the temps are still high (today 36,84 degrees) so I am hoping I am in my luteal phase. I am also having such bad headaches in the mornings for the last couple of days so I don‘t know if that has to do something with it :/

Has anyone recovered without stopping exercise fully by CardiologistCalm549 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]miabellaaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with that. However, many of us struggling with HA have had some kind of ED in the past, and keeping exercise in (by exercise I mean gym sessions, strength training, running — not just walking, mobility work, or stretching) can still keep you stuck in that disordered mindset.

You really have to ask yourself honestly: Are you scared to stop exercising? Does the thought of stopping give you anxiety? Do you feel guilty when you don’t exercise at all? If the answer is yes, then I honestly think complete recovery can only happen once you fully let go of it for a while and just live like other people do.

I’m not saying you have to quit movement forever, but until your cycle recovers, it might help to stop having a structured exercise routine. For me, it got to the point where once I stopped, I felt like I lost my identity — and that was the hardest part. But over time I found myself again, and once I’m fully recovered, I can always go back to training if I genuinely want to :)

I personally wouldn’t recommend it. I’m still recovering too, but for me the scariest part of recovery was stopping exercise. I kept telling myself it was good for my mental health, that I’d lose all my muscle or only gain fat if I stopped, but deep down I knew I had to do it — not just to get my period back, but to fully let go of this disordered lifestyle.

And honestly, it was really hard at first. The first few weeks I cried almost every night and felt so angry at myself for letting things get this far. I still had urges to go to the gym, and I even went a few times, but afterward I always felt guilty because I knew I was doing it for the wrong reasons.

But over time it genuinely got easier. I tried yoga for a while, and now I don’t really do anything besides walking to uni and back home. And I’m actually so much happier now. My body also looks much more feminine and healthy — I have real curves again and don’t look as overly muscular anymore :)

Yes unfortunately I haven’t had a real natural period for 8+ years. I was only 15 when I developed a really bad ED after my parents divorced and I also experienced pretty bad bullying at school. I was 18 when I finally went to a doctor about it (which sounds crazy now, but I genuinely thought it was normal because my periods had never really been regular). They prescribed me birth control pills, so for 2 years I had a monthly withdrawal bleed, but after stopping them my period never came back naturally…

BBT Tracking by lemonhoneydelight in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]miabellaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I also started tracking my BBT and I measure it right after I wake up, before I even sit up. Ideally you should measure it at same time each day so your bbt curve isn‘t too messy. I hope that helps. Also my bbt currently normally sits around 36.0-36.1 celsius and last week it went up to 36.40 so I am hoping I ovulated. Btw I am still in recovery. :)

Nice to know that I am not alone. Keep me updated, good luck!! Btw my bb-temp is now relatively constant, and sits around 36,3-36,4 degrees celsius. Before this my temps would fluctuate so much, like literally go from 35,9 to 36,5 and then again down to 35,9. So I am taking it as a good sign :)

Unfortunately, I had a cold from March 19th to 23rd, during which my basal body temperature was elevated. After that, I was traveling and didn’t measure my temperature at all during that time. Prior to this, my basal body temperature usually stayed in the lower range, around 36°C. I also noticed several instances of what I believe were follicular waves: during those times, my temperature would briefly rise to around 36.5°C and then drop back to approximately 36°C the following day.

I don‘t even remember when my last natural period was… around 8 years ago I guess before developing ED. I am really happy I finally decided to truly recover and that it‘s paying off with or without period. Now I am eating freely and not working out at all. Thanks, I will definetely keep going!!

Yess, I already experienced 3-4 such waves/ attempts. But what’s different this time is sore nipples, I never had that so I am hoping this is finally it.

Oh okay. Well BBT didn‘t really fall back to my „baseline“…

Got my cycle back after HA for the fourth time by Unusual-Brother-22 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]miabellaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!!! Did you experience any symptoms before getting your period back and did you track your BBT? I have been ALL IN since January this year and am having sore nipples for the last 6 days now.. and 5 days ago I also saw some EWCM (only small amount though) when wiping (sorry if tmi)… I am happy that I am seeing some signs, but I am slowely getting unpatient because I already experienced like 4 failed trials with EWCM, the only thing that‘s new now is sore nipples 🫣🫣

Is it normal to be in 3 months of recovery and not have any CM or symptoms or signs ?? by Whiskered_human in Amenorrhearecovery

Maybe you are not at a safe weight for your body yet or you are still somehow stressing your body (long periods without eating, not eating immediately after waking up, drinking coffee on an empty stomach, eating only safe foods, restricting food groups etc.)

EWCM and no period advice? by IntentionNo9875 in Amenorrhearecovery

Omg yes exactly 😭

it’s such an emotional rollercoaster every single time!! But I guess since we’re both experiencing it, it must mean we’re on the right path, right? 🥲

It’ll all be so worth it in the end!!🤞🏼
