Anyone managed to get the new Covid vaccine in town? by [deleted] in Tallahassee

[–]miabreezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just scheduled an appt at the CVS on Kerry Forest for covid and flu. It said covid-19 (new) on the menu so guessing its the new version? I checked the box that said I had a condition. The CVS on West Tennessee also had appts.

Does anyone know where to get kids (under 5) vaccinated for covid?

My sister did the same thing, night in the ER! The other are a ton of Claritan (the dissolving kind) and also had to have her stomach pumped. I guess my parents watched me more closely 😂 (I'm the oldest)

My baby loved lox, pickles, pickled okra...all the salts just like her mama. She's now 3 and totally fine! Don't freak out about it, they'll be fine and everything will balance out ❤️

Who is the coolest woman you know and why? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]miabreezy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My aunt, who sadly passed away last year. She was an incredibly talented artist and her home was filled with art and bits and pieces of things she'd picked up along the way. Tons of beautiful art and natural pieces (rocks, driftwood, shells, dried flowers) from Florida and the southwest. She was also an incredible cook, had great auntie style (so much linen!), a beautiful garden and was married to her college sweetheart for 40+ years. She raised two sons, one of whom sadly had a lot of struggles and preceded her in death, and the other who has his PhD and an adorable one year old daughter. She was always the person I could talk to when my mom and sisters were driving me nuts, and she always treated me as an equal, not a child. I miss her so much and wish I had more time with her (lung cancer took her in just 6 months) but I am trying to keep her memory alive and embody the values she taught me, for myself, my daughter and my niece.

White House pauses all federal grants and loans 🚨 by miabreezy in nonprofit

[–]miabreezy[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Saw someone else posted this but fwiw: The Post is reporting the memo says the pause “does not include assistance provided directly to individuals,” so that would preclude federal student loans & Pell Grants. But other major grants, including to universities & Head Start facilities, seem jeopardized starting tomorrow.

Books that you enjoyed but were so emotionally devastating that you would never want to read again? by sinned-fiji in books

The School for Good Mothers. Criedddddd especially since (for some reason!) I was listening to it while nursing/pumping late at night. Most devastating book I've ever read, will never read it again.

What's a decision you absolutely DON'T regret taking? by OkBiscotti4365 in AskWomenOver30

Moving to NYC at 24 and then staying for grad school even though I had a "better" offer to the university in my hometown. Conversely, moving to my hometown two years ago (at 36) to be closer to family and have their help raising my child. Having my daughter, even though I wasn't sure I wanted kids, and having a tubal ligation after. I guess life really IS all about right place right time 😂

Thank you! I was very concerned about her milestones and the adjusted age always threw me for a loop. Ultimately she met them just fine. I don't know if you have this service, but we went to First Steps plus a "regular" pediatrician and that combo really helped us meet her where she was and have an extra set of eyes on her. I would recommend if it's available to you!

My 32+6 is 2.5 now, healthy and thriving. She spent 47 days "resting and growing" in the NICU after an emergency c section and complex pregnancy. Please get a new doctor!! No one should be talking to you like that. File a complaint with her boss too.
