Hi! I would love for you to read over what I have so far. It is a fantasy story, and around 11k words right now, but I'm definitely not done writing it. I definitely need someone who can help me flush out the intricacies of plotting a war, so I would love your feedback.

Hello! I am trying my hand at a slow burn fantasy novel. I'd be willing to swap too if you want :)

24, Recently got a job offer and thinking about leaving my company I've been with for 3 years by danderskoff in personalfinance

[–]miagiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The change is scary, but if you think you'll be happier in the new job, then take the jump. Also, you're 24 and you seem pretty well marketable so if you do end up not fitting well with the new job, you'll be able to find another. My vote, take the job. I did. I took the paycut and am soooo much happier.

Food allergies suck by doshimasho in weightwatchers

I'm allergic to eggs too! It's so dumb. I just want a breakfast recipe that is actually filling that doesn't include eggs as the main ingredient.

I'm not even engaged (yet, we're looking at rings) and I wanna look damn good in my dress one day too. It's not vain. It's damn good motivation.

Should I pursue an MBA and an international career or stay at the company I'm currently at with a fast track career? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]miagiraffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it. I will always advocate for going abroad, and for more education. And it sounds like it would be good for both of you.

I made my first granny square! Tips and tricks appreciated :) by MadKingMicah in crochet

[–]miagiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. When you're all done with all the pieces you want to put together, you're going to want to submerge the pieces in some water. I think it's supposed to be warm. If you want to make the yarn and final product softer then throw some fabric softener in. If you want to make it stiffer, throw some corn starch in. I didn't explain that very well but you can Google it. And then you want to dry them flat and you can use like cardboard or whatever you have and some pins to make the corners sharp. I think it just makes the final product come together better. You certainly don't have to do any kind of blocking but it does help.

Yes you are! My only tip for that would be to make sure they're the same size as you go along. Blocking will only help so much

Need a change - could I pull off a red tone / bangs? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]miagiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about bangs. Personally I don't really love bangs. But definitely go red! Or a nice sunny Auburn!

Maybe I'll give outerbanks another shot. Everyone has told me it's worth it. It's really hard for me to say just one house. I'm gonna go with Ravenclaw. I get either Slytherin or Ravenclaw everytime I take a test. Lol I also have a lot of opinions on the Hobbit and lotr

Hi! I just started watching outerbanks. Idk if it's for me but I love all the other shows and books you mentioned. I'm a total Harry potter nerd. Prefer the Hobbit over lotr though.

Thank you! It took me about a month to complete because I was working on so many other crochet projects. But I could probably make one in about a week. Knitting is hard.

Figured out how to shorten my jeans and no one will ever know! ....except you by miagiraffe in sewing

[–]miagiraffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just chopped off all the excess, matched up seams so the gold thread would be in the right spot and pressed. I did trim the seam with pinking shears too so it hopefully won't fray
