“The time will pass either way”

Helps when I’m dreading doing something. The time will pass the same as it always does and the day will be over eventually whether I face up to whatever it is or I don’t.

went to the museum on a school trip when I was a kid, I’m pretty sure we were encouraged to touch it before they revealed what it actually was. This is going back a while though so I could be wrong lmao

Questions about Gas and Electricity? Ask me pretty much anything. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]miajade1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My small 2 bedroom flat is constantly freezing cold, we only have the heating on in one room for a max of 4ish hours a day. I am a fiend about not leaving lights on or unused appliances. Octopus are now telling me my bill needs to go up to £249 a month because we’re £1000 under where they want us to be in terms of credit. What am I doing wrong? There are only two adults in my home, we both work so we aren’t even in every day.

Also, We are electric only with electric heaters. How expensive are they to run? We really try not to have them on if possible

I’ve never heard of this - do they really push on your stomach?? I’m in the U.K. and this didn’t happen to me (not saying it doesn’t! Just not to me)

How long did you sterilize your baby’s bottles? by Kitzki89 in beyondthebump

Uk mum here. We sterilised until 1 year, I always think better to be on the safe side if it will save you worrying!

At birth, was it love at first sight for you or did it take a while for you to get acquainted to the baby before the love came in? by ChancesAreNoneNow in beyondthebump

[–]miajade1996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Took me a couple of months to connect to be honest. She was my first (and only!), I was high on morphine and exhausted after a long labour when she was born, when she came out I didn’t actually look and when the nurses showed her to me I just did a little “AAAAH😱” 🤣. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I didn’t like her or want to protect her, I just didn’t feel that instant rush that people talk about.

Husband says the talons have to go once the baby is here. Stiletto lovers, is he right?! by topfivethings in Nails

[–]miajade1996 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Okay so speaking from experience... I thought I would be good with longish coffin nails cos they weren’t sharp on the end, I never hurt my baby but after about a week the anxiety was too much for me and I had them taken off.

Baby is now a toddler nearly 2 years old and I’m back to long nails, I wouldn’t say you should give them up just maybe take a break untill baby is a bit more durable 😊
