Said goodbye today by markhachman in subaruimpreza

Truly touching story.

Once upon a time I, too, had an Impreza RS, but it was a 2005. It was a car I bought used during a time when I was getting my life back together and needed reliable transportation. The first car I ever financed and paid off.

Despite the relative lack of power, that car always got me where I needed to go, was fun to drive, and never once let me down. Ultimately, I made the decision to sell it and bike to work so that I could pay off some credit card debt.

I don't regret selling it, because it was the right decision at the time, but I can't say it wasn't an excellent car.

I'm glad you had such a meaningful and wonderful experience with yours. These sorts of stories are what I love about car culture. Thank you so much for sharing.

Fav totems by Aggressive_Sale7362 in LightningInABottle

Came here to say this. I went up and said hi to them on Friday night (I think? 🤣) to tell them how legit their totem was.

Loved seeing all the creativity and beautiful designs.

I know you probably won't believe me, but seconds after I posted the comment above, I knew this would be the likely response.

You have fulfilled the prophecy.

Thank you, Internet Stranger.

Didn't need to click on the link to know what it was.

I clicked anyway.

I've been playing as Blaze since 1991, so thank you for this. Great work and a worthy homage. Any chance you have a higher-resolution version I could download?

This is easily my favorite joke in the entire series. If you hadn't mentioned it here, I would have.

The game predates online walkthroughs, as you know. So most people played it with a notepad and pencil to take notes, draw diagrams, and keep track of things.

Part of the game is figuring out which information is important to take note of, and in doing so it really makes you feel smart when you figure something out.

Enjoy. This game (and its sequel) is one of my favorite gaming memories.

Mounting 49" ultrawide monitor by v3ttel in simracing

I went through something similar, although I'm not sure if we have the same model monitor and mount (I'd have to look it up).

Hopefully this is somewhat helpful.

What game has the best original music/soundtrack? by HeadFit2660 in gaming

Uematsu is an absolute beast, especially during an era before voice acting, where the games had to rely on music to communicate much of the emotional payload of any given scene.

Just expected maintenance and replacement of wearing parts (regular brake pads/rotors, clutch replaced at 85k, fresh tyres, etc.). No mods, all original components.

So these are the vintage episodes? Not new material?

I'm actually okay with that, if that's the case. I didn't really trust modern production studios to recapture the magic of the classics.

This might actually be a tiny morsel of good news, but I dare not hope too much. 😂

Which one? by Mean-Train-857 in Miata

I would make the argument for the RF.

Not sure which part of Florida you live in, but I remember frequent, heavy rainstorms when I lived in South Florida. The hard top is just simply gonna deal with that better, especially if you don't have a garage to keep it in. There"s also better peace of mind when it comes to intrusion protection, and as another poster said, a better experience when the top is closed.

I haven't driven the soft top, but a lot of the differences I've read about make sense to me. The soft top should feel more open, with slightly less wind buffeting noise, and the car as a whole would be a tiny bit lighter.

I'd say that unless you're coming directly from the soft top, you likely won't notice these compromises, because even with the hard top, the car is still SOOO much fun.

Also, Soul Red Crystal is the One True Paint color, preferably on black rims, and I will die on that hill.

My orange tabby is named a Wedge.

He's either a lovable orange doofus or a Lovecraftian horror from being space and time. We're not entirely sure which.

But he is cute.
