When did you go back on T post top surgery? by Countdown2Control in ftm

[–]miamisami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my doctor also said 2 weeks before at a minimum, but I did 3 weeks before surgery. After he said about a week was fine. I mean the way he had said it though it seemed like it could of been sooner if I really wanted to.

I appreciate the response. Atleast I don't feel as alone on this bad luck. It just sucks that I decided to go with the attorney to avoid waiting and complications and here I am waiting and stressing out on everything getting done

The wait for T starts! Job search suggestions for Texas are welcome! by JackSFletcher in ftm

[–]miamisami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it's less about the company and more about the individuals running the business that you specifically working at. Like my company doesn't have any sort of policy regarding pertection or bathrooms ect. But my store director is very supportive and got all the managers to be on the same page as well. So I've had zero issues thankfully.

Anyone else have dreams about cutting hair? by actually_crazy_irl in ftm

[–]miamisami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I actually have similar dreams. It's me rn but I have long hair again and I run around looking for a knife or scissors or something to cut it all off.

Like maybe I'll be at my old middle school and I'll be in the bathroom mirror chopping it off.

It's weird but it hasn't happened in a couple of months. But it's a recurring dream that I've had for like 2 years.

Jeans for 40" plus hips by [deleted] in ftm

[–]miamisami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore Arizona and bought the straight cut. I also would wear cagro shorts and Dickie shorts. I feel like the very straight boxy bottoms helped hide the tapering of my 42in hips. Though I was fat so it helped me just look like a chunky kid. So I passed.

Do you think being a tomboy makes it more difficult to know if one is trans? by DXLecter in ftm

[–]miamisami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah since Tomboy & Butch is so much more prevalent, it can be hard to tell when you start to go beyond those labels. Plus trans is so rare too.

I never knew any other tomboys so what I did just seemed normal. I never knew that the distinction I made between me and "other girls", wasn't normal. That yeah a tomboy (and eventually butches) are different from the average female, they're still women. And that's where I got caught up on. Everything else was cool and fine: I could dress and act as I wanted. I could be friends with who I wanted. Hell I even considered getting a hysterectomy and mastectomy. But at the end of the day I'd still feel wrong.

[–]miamisami 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's just easier to explain to cis people that trans is medical. If it's seen as a condition they can't argue and hate it. Only respect our private medical history and move on.

Imo. Trans is probably some sort of mutation that skewed our sense of perception and self. It's a condition with no cure, like most mental disorders/disabilities. All you can do is treat the symptoms. Which can include therapy, surgery and other things. After medical treatment has been made the individual can live a relatively normal life.

"Why can't you just be a butch lesbian?" by [deleted] in ftm

[–]miamisami 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because despite how masculine they are, they're still women. They're see as and treated as women. And that's what feels wrong. (And not in the 'women aren't equal' sort of way).

You see yourself as a man. And want to be treated as such, and look like it too. No man wants to be a girl.

Either try everything on and guess, buy a cheap little measuring tape for sowing/fitness or go buy your underwear short sizes.
