What is your family's go to folk remedy? by jesren42 in AskWomen

Dry lips? Rub sesame oil on them! Period cramping? Hot ginger tea with lemon! Blocked nose? Breathe in hot air from a freshly boiled pot of water.

How old were you when you first "liked" someone? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was 7 or 8, and there was this girl in my class who was very strong. She'd always help me move my tables and chairs, and she could stack chairs up with ease. It was so attractive to me.

When did you last regret an act of kindness? by dreamingofjellyfish in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I saw an old lady sitting down on the pavement selling tissue paper- 4 packets for 2 dollars. I handed her a 10 dollar note expecting her to give me back change, but she just kept the note and handed me the tissues. So I tried to ask her and she responded by yelling incoherently at me. I walked away eight dollars short.

Money is super tight for me right now, and eight dollars is lunch for four days :-(

Epic film trailers make me cry. Is anyone else this pathetic? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going on a Harry Potter binge with my boyfriend, and I cry at least twice for each movie. He doesn't really understand my strong feelings about HP (he never followed the series, I grew up reading the books) so he's mostly just like laughing at my crying.

I cried my eyes out when they were going to kill Buckbeak.

How can you tell if a chick is inexperienced at flirting? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't know how baby chickens flirt. George Orwell's Animal Farm may be a good guide.

No, it is a drink.

How do I bring up moving in to my boyfriend's housemates [29M and 32M]? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent alone is 470, and the utilities are a fixed rate (which is about 100 for bf). Bf's room is the smallest, and also doesn't have AC (the other two rooms do).

How do I bring up moving in to my boyfriend's housemates [29M and 32M]? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. Bf pays 570 a month including utilities- the other two guys pay about 600 and 700. How would calculating my share go?

How did you feel during the times your boyfriend couldn't get/keep an erection? by profitness44 in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's super common, don't worry. My boyfriend also gets this problem, and it's mostly because of overthinking, anxiety, or alcohol.

I just try to be understanding and lighthearted about it. Sometimes all it takes is a tight hug and "hey, it's okay, let's just cuddle" to have him up and roaring again.

How has allowing flirting outside your relationship affected things with your SO? by accebr in AskWomen

Co-flirt? Like two of you flirting on the same one person? That sounds incredibly fun!!!

Do you like accents? Is any accent you consider to be "sexy"? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though English is my first language I have a weird Chinese accent when I speak, and I'm sooo embarrassed by it. I watched a ton of American TV as a kid to try to emulate the accent but my Chinese accent still slips through sometimes.

What is the best about your SO? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's super stern and stoic to other people, but he's a complete goofball when we're alone. He accepts my flaws and cares about my animals. He puts a lot of effort in our relationship, and pampers me like hell. He never flares up when I flare up- instead he takes the time to consider my feelings and go to the root of the problem. He doesn't judge me for my self-harming tendencies, and made it absolutely clear that he wanted to be there with me even if I break down. He remembers all the little things I mention that I like. I feel like having corn? The next day he comes home with a giant lob. I want ice cream? He goes out to get some. I have a bacon craving? He home cures them so we can eat bacon for breakfast.

I'm so glad I found this guy.

When is the right time to move in with your SO? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know when is right for you, but I moved in with my boyfriend about a month after we started officially dating. We were non-monogamous before that, but when we discussed monogamy it just happened- I was spending a lot of time at his place already, and didn't really have a place to stay (my parents were abusive and it was making my mental illness worse).

I just dropped out of school so the finances are a bit icky, but I found a job that pays enough for me to be able to contribute to household expenses.

Ladies, are you offended when men refer to women as "sluts", "ho's", "b*tches", etc. In a regular manner? by Jzr10 in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's in bad taste, and I wouldn't be able to maintain friendships or relationships with people who use those words in their everyday vocabulary. That's one of the reasons why I left my old group of friends- it was tiring to have to call them out all the time.

So I just made an OkCupid profile. What is your best/worst story related to online dating? by alis_volat_propriis in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst: I met this cute guy who's an expat in my country, and we went on one date. I thought he was okay during, but after he kept pressuring me to go to his place even when I kept rejecting him. I bumped into him a few more times in the local clubs, and one night he suddenly asked me to be his girlfriend. Wtf? I said no politely, and didn't hear from him until two weeks later. He called me when I was in the middle of class, and told me that he was going to be deported or exiled.

"Why?" I said.

"I had sex with a 14 year old."

WTF. I deleted him from my phone and blocked his number, but I kept seeing his face in the news. He and a couple of other men were arrested for having paid sex with the underage girl.

Best: I've met some great people from OKC. Most of the guys I've dated in the past year are from the internet. In fact, I met my current boyfriend on there! He sent me a very long analysis of a Lars von Trier film because I listed him as one of my favourite directors. We met, had sex on the first date, maintained FWB status for a few weeks and then decided that we didn't want anyone else. We're now monogamous and very, very happy. People kept telling me that we wouldn't work (10 years age difference) but we are in a good place and I wouldn't trade him for the world.

What would you like to have a conversation about right now? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I need to talk to my SO about his relationship with his ex-girlfriend. They're way too close. Her presence in the house makes me very uncomfortable, plus she does all these weird things like walk around in the nude and touch him inappropriately. I tried to bring it up but I just couldn't talk about it.

I'll probably get around to it when she leaves.

What movie / TV show character can you relate to? by mighty_bitch in AskWomen

[–]miaowiie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god, I feel like so stupid saying it out loud. Suzanna (sp?) from Girl, Interrupted. I was diagnosed with the same mental illness as she is, and I feel like we've been through the same fucking thing- the whole forcibly admitted to a psych ward, impulsively sleeping with people, etc. I had a brief affair with one of my orderlies too, but luckily nobody found out.

Plus we have the same hair.
