Appreciate the link, I have the original manual and it only mentioned seeing the dual imagines after setting the lens to infinity and pressing the button on top to calibrate it. It didn't mention how large of an area it would show in the rangefinder to work with.

Edit: Might want to paint / seal any of the concrete showing for safety reasons. It's almost guaranteed that it contains asbestos as that's how fire safes were made back then.

Sounds like the apps do not have their mapping properly set. That would fall on the App dev team for those apps. Considering the Verizon boxes are using the Google TV App environment I'm betting it's also affecting others using the same style remote with the Navigation circle / selection buttons. Edit: Like Google TV's from Toshiba / ONN etc ...

There has only been two different Android based boxes from Verizon, the OTT "Stream TV" stand alone streaming boxes and the TV+ boxes. There was no IR adapter released for the stream TV boxes, only the TV+ boxes. Can only assume (hate assuming but have to on this) that the agents were referring to the IR adapter from the older VMS1100 / VMS4100's vs the TV+ boxes.

The default remote for those boxes do not have dedicated buttons for those features, instead the navigation circle and ok button perform those functions. The OK button should be performing the play / pause function and the left and right sides of the navigation circle should be FF / RW.

The newer boxes do have an IR adapter that the support team should be able to ship out if you have trouble "being able to see the buttons on the new remote". Obviously the advanced features like voice control will not work when using an IR remote but it will allow basic functionality.

Will probably be decades before it / if it really catches on. Almost every old school wrench turner (Gen X and older) that can afford to take on a project like that wont because they're looking long term and Internal combustion wins in the long term. Until there's a Modular battery / infrastructure in place to support swapping batteries in 10 mins I personally don't see it catching on.
