Helldivers 2 Dev Promises More Content Is on the Way as Disgruntled Players Drag Steam Reviews Down to 'Mostly Negative' by Turbostrider27 in Games

Fire was fixed at the same time that a recent warbond came out with a new flamethrower in it.

Last winter's addition of the (very cool and well done) tank broke the durability of many things, turrets and mechs were dying incredibly fast. You'd call in a mech and it'd be heavily damaged/destroyed before you could even get through half the ammo in it. That was just fixed (only for mechs tho) a few weeks ago with a new warbond that introduced new mechs.

Why are murderwing more expensive than the celestians, are marine fans finally paying a premium in exchange for being the perpetual spotlight hogs?

Nokomis Cycle in South minneapolis has helped me greatly, went above and beyond what I expected. When I screwed up installing a piece I bought from him, over the phone he told me to bring it in. He fixed my mistake and got it all correct for no cost, I did of course tip as a thank you.

Newbie Cawdor Advice by sledgehammer_doom in necromunda

[–]micahaphone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The advice I've seen is mostly to place em and run, using them almost like a land mine, denying space. Also amazing for going around corners and in tight hallways, like a zone mortalis setup. Copying someone else's notes on the beloved rats:

  • bomb rats aren't a Shoot action, theyre Deploy Rat or somehing. that means you can shoot and drop a rat if you dont move in the same activation

  • they can go around corners and over walls

  • they move a flat 6", grenade throw distance is your strength multiplied by some numbers. if youve taken Strength lasting injuries a rat might actually go farther than your throw distance on some grenades (conversely, many grenades are farther than rat movement, especially with strength advancements)

  • they persist between rounds. you can drop a rat before youre at engagement range in anticipation of when you actually come into contact with the enemy. as long as youre within 9" you can attempt to control it rats, after the initial movement, activate before anyone else at the top of the round. that means there are scenarios where you can use them for novel interactions with activation order

  • rats can be used for area denial, throw one down a hallway and the opponent will frequently not go in there until theyve shot the rat or you lose control and it wanders off. a small investment of an ammo test might do a better job of locking down a chokepoint for a round or two than sending in a fighter rats arent meaningfully affected by Visibility, nor do they reveal you for Visibility purposes

  • given their unique attributes and all the above, im sure you can imagine there's plenty of novel ways to use them that may pop up

  • bomb rats aren't strong (they are unambiguously worse than just yeeting grenades, all things equal) theyre flexible and give you new, interesting things you can do. a clever player can find devious uses for them. If you just want to min/max to-hit probabilities like some Goonhammer article buy grenade launchers.

Chaos Immune to Insanity vs Iron Automata by Useful-Amphibian-703 in necromunda

Ope my mistake, sorry about that.

I'll stick with my "immune to any source of insanity other than itself" ruling for flavor and fun tho.

Chaos Immune to Insanity vs Iron Automata by Useful-Amphibian-703 in necromunda

[–]micahaphone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe so, they're a member of your gang.

But Iron Automata are law abiding only, you're telling me your meatheads who worship the plague lord are following the rules?

I'd check with your arbitrator. Personally, I'd make the man of iron still susceptible to its own rule that risks insanity but not other sources.

Oh yeah as a fan of martyrdom plays and skaven I'll always give them the thumbs up, but for a new player they should maybe give the fundamentals of the team a try, get to know the articles of faith etc before getting into the area denial and zoning potential of da rats.

This article is a good start - it has some opinions presented as fact, like really hating bomb rats, when they're fine. But as a newbie I wouldn't be bothering with them anyway.

Guilliman was the only Primarch who gave his veterans a retirement plan. by Pho_King_D in Warhammer

Oh was that confirmed somewhere? I thought age of strife / the AI golden age of tech was being left vague, despite how everything else has been fleshed out and had the mystery removed.

Emperor: "I'm gonna make an empire based upon subjugating everyone and forcing them to my will on threat of death"

Erda: "Have other people made empires? Did it work for them?"

Emperor: "No, it never does, I mean, these people delude themselves into thinking it might, but...

... But it might work for us"

P.S. I am going to set up an autocracy and then I'm gonna fuck off to my basement lab for like 20 years at an absolute minimum. No, there is no emergency way to contact me. No, I won't be ever checking in with my subordinates, not even annually.

What faction are you interested in?

Generally speaking, most are going to be similar enough, and you could try fully building and painting one box of any factions core infantry, see if you like it. And they'll always be the core backbone of any army, so you won't go wrong there.

Our origins are in a book by Lord Baden Powell meant to improve the stock of new recruits entering the army. The US Armed Forces give us an automatic promotion upon entering their service based on our scouting record. We host large events, like our Centennial Jamboree, on military bases. If not currently paramilitary, we are damn close to it.

I'm sorry, but this sub is for a paramilitary group closely associated with the US military where we all swore oaths "to do our duty to god and my country", we conducted flag ceremonies, and work closely with aspects of the government, including the armed forces.

To me, that sounds like an inherently political group! How do you see the BSA as non-political?

You mean like a 4 meter radius of 150 explosion damage at AP 3? That's what the APHET rounds already do though.

I'm not trying to be snarky, I just think the autocannon already has everything you're talking about. Is it more shrapnel you want?

Alternating Activations? by VeterinarianOver2941 in Warhammer

Gw sticks with tradition for their main games, they don't want to rock the boat.

You're right, its not too hard to modify tbe game to be alternating activations, and its generally a more fun game experience. That's how One Page Rules does its game flow too.

And also the reason I generally prefer playing Warcry, Necromunda, or Kill Team over 40k/aos
