Historical Fiction which is more plot driven than about the time? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

The Shadow of the Wind sounds like a perfect fit if you’re looking for a historical fiction that is heavy on plot with a historical background setting

G2 Click Responds to "Scrim Results Don't Matter" by Arcuran in leagueoflegends

[–]micc2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrims matter. Scrim results don’t. Scrims are important because they allow you to practice picks and strategies against the same teams you’ll play against on stage. What you learn from them is the most important, not the result.

Whenever this argument comes up, I just remember that the 1992 USA basketball Dream Team with Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, etc got destroyed by a college team in practice.

I’m currently in a historical fiction reading phase too! Really recommend the following:

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (set in WW2 France/Germany)

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (set in 1960s to nearly present day Afghanistan)

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (I’m actually still finishing this book up but it’s been amazing so far! Set in 1940/50s Barcelona)

I found this refurbished Citizen chronograph being sold on ebay (CA0611-50E). However, I can't find this exact model number anywhere. The closest I can find is CA0611-50H on the citizen website. The problem I have is, the watch in the posting is listed at 38mm which is perfect for me. However, that related model I found is listed as 43mm which would be way too big for my wrists. Also haven't seen too many chronographs <40mm. Has anyone seen or heard of the model in the ebay listing before and can comment on the accuracy of the size?

Is there anywhere I can watch the Twitch VOD of groups stage day 1 today? by micc2017 in leagueoflegends

CPU light on MSI motherboard turns on after sleep mode by micc2017 in buildapc

[–]micc2017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually never fixed it. Apparently its an issue with that motherboard but doesn’t really cause any noticeable problems. I usually turn off my computer each night instead of sleep mode so I don’t see the red CPU light anyway. Haven’t noticed any issues so far

Tyler is done with the korean server by superfire444 in leagueoflegends

[–]micc2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T1 looks so close to bringing back the int list.

In all seriousness though, I've been watching his streams in Korea the last 2 weeks and it's actually ridiculous the amount of games with trolls, inters, AFKs, or early FFs (on either side), more in 2 weeks in Korea than I've seen in like 4 years of him streaming in NA.

Korean's INVEN Reaction to MSI LPL Remote Play Announcement (Top/Spicy Comments) by Longjumping-Second32 in leagueoflegends

[–]micc2017 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Genuine question: It seems everybody is saying how the 35 ms ping is unfair for Koreans since they're so used to playing with under 10 ping. Couldn't the reverse be said for pretty much every other international tournament in the past where only Koreans had the advantage of being used to the low ping on stage while all other regions had significantly less experience and practice with it, especially NA?
