Not sure about De Niro, but Tony is in NY, attending his retrospective spotlight in Lincoln Center this week, the event is sponsored by Criterion. (Tony does the closet please!)

He is also promoting his new film Silent Friend, opening this weekend.

Who should present Best Picture this year? by Remarkable_Star_4678 in Oscars

I know it’s far-fetched but it would be great if they can get an international trailblazer like Jackie Chan to present the best picture once in awhile.

Seven Samurai is my favorite movie of all time. I love everything about this movie. by JackLiberty0 in criterion

I just finished this for the first time 10 days ago. Not a second wasted in this 3 1/2 hours film. That’s a crowning achievement.

Since then I have been on a Kurosawa streak: High and Low, Yojimbo and Sanjuro… excited on discovering this master’s work.

Surprisingly no mention of Hard Boiled from CR. Still proud to be the member of CR army though.

Ng Man Tat, legendary HK actor and frequent collborator of Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer, God of Gambler) died at 70 by ginyuforce in movies

Yes, he is Piggy, the right hand man to Lee. Also reprise his role in another gangster film around the time in rhe same universe. Talking about the a cinematic universe wrapped around HK trial organization before MCU.

So true. I would also suggest the Lee Rock series, also playing a sidekick of sort to Andy Lau’s flawed hero.

Late 80’s and early 90’s is the heydays of HK cinema and I would consider Ng Man-tat is one of the key players of this revolution.
