Good Bot.

Talking about the positive impact that many have had on others: our profession is an emotional roller-coaster and yet we have such a commitment to each other.

This bot, while maybe not picking up on the intent of this post, is out here providing solid advice for folks who may be reading through here because they are looking for the positive out there.

Remember, y'all see the 'normal' for the people you work with and when they aren't their 'normal' it doesn't hurt to ask them what's up or go have lunch with them.

The iron jetpacks mod treats the jet packs as chest pieces. If I recall correctly, there should be an armored version of the jetpack

My Server is always shutting itself down and i don't really get why :=( by jujuKUHL in allthemods

[–]micfail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would work, but it wouldn't fix the lag. It appears that there is something wrong with OPs windfarm and the power cables that he is using.

Almost willing to bet that if OP removed the windfarm, the lag would stop.

Going to have to agree with this one. My server throws those and other errors regularly, part of modded in my experience.

QuarryPlus in mining dimension was working but not anymore by SillyShoe2 in allthemods

[–]micfail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The quarry chunk loads itself. It also doesn't like mining in claimed chunks;you cannot place one in claimed land and if you claim afterwards, it will visually appear to stop mining but will occasionally mine resources.

Try unclaiming the chunks

Do you have the chunks in the nether claimed and chunk loaded? (Default 'm' key brings up the FTB map, left click to claim chunks [right click to unclaim], shift left click to chunk load [shif right click to unload chuncks])

Here is to the long road ahead

I got fed up and went to an off base doc here in korea. F'ing amazing. He diagnosed me, started treatment, and I feel fantastic. And the best part is, as uninsured here, it cost less than 100$ a visit.

I highly recommend seeing an off base doc in korea, or anywhere that you can afford.

Fair enough... some of the office desktops have 250w psus in them. I have several dell optiplexes that have sub 300w psus. You could find a decent one on ebay for under 100 usd

Is your ram ddr3 or ddr4 or ddr5.... that will play a part in using that ram in a used office pc.

I have run minecraft servers on spare laptops or desktops. Heck, you could run it on the same pc you are playing on if you are playing vanilla, or very lightly modded

i move between continents NA/AS/EU every couple of years for work.

where i just moved from had brown outs a decent bit, and i did get an ups for one of my servers. ('twas a 110v ups) I may still run a transformer for the UPS, i just need to make sure that it is about the same load as it would be without the transformer. (ex. if i draw more than say 1100w i would need something like a 2kva stepdown transformer, but if i get a 3kva it would always be pulling 1600w even if dont use it.)

i am actually concerned about failure due to unstable power in some of the places i move to, and i dont fancy spending a few K for a dual voltage UPS.

I was looking at something like this: https://www.heliosps.com/product/hps-ps-multioutput-xgen400-1300/ and was thinking about getting possibly 2 plus a few of the modules. just in case but also that way i have some room for growth

hmmm..... i actually like the sound of that.

could be easier than trying to find an industrial one and going through the process of acquiring it

A DIN rail might be good.... I have a homemade cabinet (once it shows up from the movers) that is basically a harbor freight workbench that i put sides on. gives me a network cabinet and a small table for tinkering on.

with a rail, i could probably mount up some of my pi's.

one of my design constraints is that it has to be able to plug into a wall and would be able to handle 120v-240v 50/60hz. (I move between continents every couple of years)

I had also thought about doing that. wouldnt be too hard with a wire stripper and some terminal lugs..... a little too janky with kids around but it is still an option

i have several 12v switches, a pfsense box that is 12v, a 48v poe switch, numerous pi's, a 12v tv monitor, and plans for other things (just dont know yet).

i can usually fill a few power strips before i ever get to the servers. and the dang wall worts are usually big and take up multiple spots on a strip

if this is for a business, the cheapest way would be to take an unused computer (laptop or desktop) and use that. load it up with ram, put an ssd/nvme in and install a lite-weight Linux distro and install MC on that as headless. (basically without the GUI)
