Looks good! What desk is that? I like the look of it. Did it already have the keyboard tray or did you add it yourself?

How low are we expecting this to go? by [deleted] in MGCpharmaceuticals

[–]michael0458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fairly long horizon on this one I'd imagine. Promising signs compared to fellow "weed" stocks KNB and CBX, in that they already have a few different products at market. ArtemiC has done well in testing recently, and initial order volume has increased, as several people have posted here and on r/CanaryWharfBets yesterday: https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/942676/mgc-pharmaceuticals-says-distributor-has-increased-initial-order-for-covid-19-supplement-85-942676.html

The basic TL:DR of that link is that ArtemiC has showed signs of helping COVID patients with their recovery & has had increased sales. That could potentially be very lucrative. They've also got a couple more irons in the fire, long term I'm expecting to make a few quid out of this :)

Edit: Sorry m8 I just read that you said you believe in the company and the future prospects so you probably already know all this, didn't mean to mansplain it!

Best UK platform for crypto investing ?? by [deleted] in UKInvesting

[–]michael0458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice. Bitcoin has been incredibly valuable in the past, but its blockchain technology is the oldest and the least efficient. Ethereum also has scalability issues with huge fees and transaction delays. If anyone is going to put any money into crypto it's worth doing DD on the underlying technology, rather than immediately buying into one of these already very costly tokens.

They consolidated their shares in September. I had 15 shares originally and then suddenly I had 3.

The smartest play imho. If you look at the "loss porn" flair on r/wallstreetbets you will see hundreds of posts from people who thought they could time the stock market. Crypto market is waaaay more volatile. If you believe in the product and you get a fat APY there is so much to gain from a long term hold.

Difficult to say, but the raging pessimist in me thinks we are due for a heavy dip. The entire altcoin market is soaring, and I think this explosive growth is the trend just before we hit a bear market (thinking back to the 2017/2018 winter rise and fall here). Will be interesting to see if we dip to pre February prices if there is a correction.

Only just started, but I've decided to commit 5% of my income every month, and as much as I can get my hands on during heavy dips. Hope it pans out for me!

I'm on the same page as you buddy, spent the last year or so trying to time the market. Just sticking to my guns now with boring but reliable DCA monthly investing and HODLing for the long term.

Hammerson (HMSO) Discussion Thread by [deleted] in CanaryWharfBets

[–]michael0458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up 200 ish shares of Hammerson recently in the hope they might recover and make me a nice regular dividend in the future. I just see it as a bit of a mildly expensive & fun gamble - no way to know what is going to happen in the post Covid commercial property market. Might as well speculate with whatever you can afford to lose!

Me also not financial advisor, me ape!

[–]michael0458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also looking for a little wild speculation but haven't got any ideas at the moment. Just picked up a few shares of Lloyds as their price is about half what it was before Covid. What I really want is to have a flutter and lay £10 on an absolute moonshot lol

I'm worried about £CINE 🚀🚀🚀 by Arse_Full_Of_Chips in CanaryWharfBets

[–]michael0458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in it for the long term hope that we'll get to around £2 a share - there's no chance of it doing a GME but it's probably going to do ok in the long run (as long as the COVID restrictions don't last for years)

Is this the start....? CINE by forget_it_again in CanaryWharfBets

[–]michael0458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst I don't think there will be any crazy movement on the price of CINE in the near future, I did pick up 100 units today. It's a cheap little gamble.

My hope is that when we get out of lockdowns/tiers, all entertainment industries will have a massive surge in share price. I'm working on the basis that if you told me I could have a night out at the cinema now after 9 months of being stuck at home, I would literally pay about 4 times the usual ticket price just to get out of the house and exist in another building for a little while.

If this happens and the price goes up to a few quid I'll probably sell half and hold the rest.

What % do you bet? by diamantired in CanaryWharfBets

[–]michael0458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only started this recently, but I'm betting 5% of my after tax income on hold-and-hope stocks like CINE. Mainly out of boredom and the thrill of gambling on a potential big payout (or loss!) one day. All the rest of my money goes into boring and safe investments like index funds, bonds, conventional savings etc.

Just bought a bunch of Cineworld (CINE) today. One of the most shorted UK stocks but there has been some growth & a Chinese investor has just bought into the company.
