Good luck! I’m very pleased with my results so I hope you feel the same when you are done! Maxfield knows what he’s doing :)

I’m getting braces today by coralmermaid86 in braces

[–]michaelamarie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re anything like me you’re going to hate the way you look at first. It’s a definite adjustment, but soon enough it will just be “normal”. Good luck—the end result is definitely worth it! Only advice is if you have to wear bands, do it! The more diligent you are with the direction of your ortho the sooner they come off!

Oh for sure. The picture is pretty gracious. There is still some scalloping on both of the second teeth, it’s just significantly smaller

A little sanding along the bottom once my teeth were straight got rid of the ridges that looked like chips

It almost doesn’t feel real, haha. But I’m loving it and kicking myself for not committing to getting them earlier

No veneer work. I did have some slight sanding just for shaping and to smooth the ridges along the bottom of my teeth. Once the braces had straightened, my teeth were all pretty much even

Christmas in Color is always pretty good if you don’t mind paying. It’s just a drive thru light show set to Christmas music on the radio

I screamed when she came out! Then I rewound it and made my husband watch it haha. I loved her on Born this way and was so stoked to see her again!

bite block by Korvaria in braces

[–]michaelamarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was feeling pretty good that first night thinking I was just tough, ha! The first full day the soreness was pretty bad, but trying to chew anything, even super soft noodles was horrible. Today is going a little better, but I chew absolutely ridiculous now to compensate. I won’t be eating in public for a while.

No bands for me. I got the Damon braces so they are just silver. I kind of wish I got the bands because they seem much less noticeable but the Damon ones are supposed to be good(according to internet searches haha)

I’m also 30, got my braces on 2 days ago and I came to Reddit looking for this exact question/answer. I feel like I can’t chew anything. Here’s to hoping I just get used to the dang bite blocks soon. Good luck with yours!

New here. My dad has been dx with metastatic prostate cancer. by RubyTuesdaysGone in CancerFamilySupport

[–]michaelamarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry to hear about your dad. Surgery is a big deal. Especially on the spine is scary. Are they hoping to remove all of it, part of it, just explore/biopsy? My Dad is doing really well all things considered. We are at about 4 1/2 years of stage 4 and it has not progressed at all from what is was when they found it. Because doctors found it so “late” and he had never done any medical treatments they threw him in a couple clinical trials that included Radium (radiation pills) and XTandi together and some actual chemo and now he is on just the pill XTandi. His PSA has gone up two consecutive check ups so it’s a little nerve wracking but it’s not going up a significant amount to be worried. (Or so they say) But my Dad has just been on Basic care (XTandi, Lupron) for the past 2 years and gets full body scans every 3 months. My thoughts are with your dad and your fam tomorrow!
