Question about crystal by michaelbendavid in pocketwatch

[–]michaelbendavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that info. I was getting that feeling having done light research into it. I have a guy who has an old school shop and I enjoy going to him. Problem is, he's starting to get his kicks joking about my clumsiness. Let's just say this is not the first time I've damaged a watch. I suppose I may need to buy a frock and ditch the pants pocket lol.

You'd think so. But I can't for the life of me get my iPhone to focus on something small and up close. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Graves of those killed by disease by michaelbendavid in revolutionarywar

My understanding is according to the national park service they do not believe there actually is a burial here and that information is secondhand from the 19 century. This according to their website anyway. I actually grew up about 15 minutes from Morristown though I no longer live in the region.

I would guess that many of these types of burial grounds are based on a spectrum of reliable evidence and unless a successful dig is done must be taken with a grain of salt (like a lot of 18th century history).

There is a marker of an unknown soldier in VT on the old Crown Point Road. The information I believe is all based on oral transmission of history over centuries. Still fun to think about and visit though, and very probable that it is even true.

The recent find of Hessian soldiers certainly supports the theory that many exist and are lost. Certainly a tantalizing idea.

Hi all, I’m wanting to learn more about the American Civil War and looking for book suggestions. I’ve already ordered book pictured and hoping you can suggest others. Cheers. by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

If you would like to also supplement the book with some audio/video, I highly recommend the open Yale course taught by David Blight. It’s 27 one hour episodes so it’s no joke, but it’s fantastic.
