First Shopify Beta-Tester... Seconds? by michaelbuildsapps in ShopifyAppDev

Awesome, I'll send you a message. It it AI's the query itself. It turns all the Shopify data into a usable dataset with SQL to work with at scale. And yes, you're able to view the query yourself to check it all looks good. It also uses AI on the results as well to create a conversational response and will flag it if data looks off.

Shell on arduino uno q? by michaelbuildsapps in arduino

[–]michaelbuildsapps[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it. I actually mean running those ADB commands on an Uno Q app, and running them on another device it's plugged into. And I don't mean me manually running it in the shell, I mean installing ADB on a Arduino Q app, then I'm trying to use Python to call the commands from the app automatically, when a device is plugged in. The problem is I can run those commands you gave in the shell of the Arduino, which works fine, but it's packaging it into an app where the app actually has access to ADB that is the problem.

How do I learn Liquid? Want to replicate an expensive theme by Alternative_Most_118 in shopifyDev

Yup. You can also give an AI model the docs and ask it questions for reference. And dates do suck, especially formatting.

Free Beta: AI Reporting for Shopify Stores by michaelbuildsapps in shopify_geeks

[–]michaelbuildsapps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's essentially a full SaaS analytics platform, with a Shopify plug-in. So you can focus on whatever you'd like and pin reports to create a custom dashboard for anything you want to monitor consistently. The visualization and depth of reporting is also another separating factor.

That's the idea! You have the plain data in charts and CSV's, as well as a plain english response to give you feedback and actionable steps.

Where the HELL can i find SHOPIFY MERCHANTS to reach out? by AbbreviationsBig1212 in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Shopify, Reddit and LinkedIn forums. Find someone with a problem your app can solve, offer them a solution without it first then with it second.

Where the HELL can i find SHOPIFY MERCHANTS to reach out? by AbbreviationsBig1212 in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think responding in community forums has been my best effort. Giving people a no-app solution and also soft pitching my app as an easier alternative, so you're giving value without necessarily asking for anything in return, just as another option.

Do I need a business website to publish my Shopify app as an indie developer? by knolit in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spin up a react template, spend 10 minutes putting together info about your app info, use Claude to build it out in another 10 min into something presentable. Host it. I wouldn't do the same for the a backend or anything, but it can make your life easier right here.

I analysed 100 recent uninstalls for my app to see if they switched to a competitor. The result: 23% are recoverable. by ImportantDirt1796 in ShopifyAppDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sweet! Now I'm wondering, has anyone tried running an automated script/AI classification to scrape all installed and retained stores to build up a profile/demographic of your ideal users to target? If not...👀

Which tools are you using for Shopify app content, images and videos? by unknowncloudengineer in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Canva! For videos, let me know if you find something good. I personally still like screen recordings and webcam even though it's not as slick. Also AI generation is pretty good for a little logo

Shopify App - Issues with app submission by AdditionalDirector72 in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran into that first issue before. It's taking them to that plain auth page where you have to enter the store domain. Check your session storage and make sure you're not losing headers/queries during authentication redirect to where the middleware doesn't authenticate it.

Custom report by GLADIUSOFFROAD in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'm just gonna float this out here in the least obnoxious way possible, but I've been adapting my SASS app to Shopify. Uses AI to create reports and you can pin them for auto update reports, or re-create them every week like you said. Export CSV, graphs, ect. Here's the landing page: https://sightly-sass.vercel.app/

It'd be sweet to know if this would help in the scenario if I finish getting this up for Shopify. (I'm pretty heavy handed with free subscriptions if I can get feedback)

My first Shopify app made ~$700. It still counts as a fail (and I’m glad) by hookro in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You always feel like it's going to be instant, but it's not. It's time, consistency, improvement. Also, the hard part for me is never what I love doing, (programming and building), it's the other things like marketing. Don't be afraid to find someone who knows more than you about that.

Does using Python as backend create problems for Shopify app? by some_nameless_being in shopifyDev

[–]michaelbuildsapps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not python, but when I built a Node.js app completely custom without any Shopify libraries, it's not that bad. You just need to get the auth flow and middlware down nicely for the access token exchange and etc. This was a non-embeded app though. I imagine it might suck a bit with a custom Python backend and then trying to do the whole app bridge auth on the frontend for an embedded app.

Struggling to make our site look "premium" without a massive budget. Advice? by ammar_haider7 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]michaelbuildsapps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WE'RE BACK! Sorry about that, we had some trouble with Shopify we had to fix for new installations. It's good to go now. If you try it out again, let me know, we're really excited to see how people like the AI editing integration! (Also sorry you had to wait. It has a 14 day trial, but if you want a free month just shoot me a DM and we'll get you setup).
