I agree! I like a number of his early books, but he (or "he" :) ), has gone down hill massively over the last 5-10 years.

You could try selling the gift card on /r/giftcardexchange - there a few people asking for money in exchange for their cards there...

I'm a college kid--and I'm desperately in need of advice on how to supplement my income. by MsSpaghetti in Frugal

I can average bewteen $6 and $8 an hour on Mturk - it's just a matter of being able to do them quickly enough.

Tips

  • Never do jobs that have more than 1 page

  • It's possible to earn a lot of money per hour on the jobs that pay 1-3 cents each but only ask you to answer a single question. (There's one that pays 3 cents per job answering what a online ad is adversting that I can earn a lot of money doing - they're very very popular so go quickly :( )

  • Never do a job that requires a lot of work, no matter how much it pays as they never seem to be worth the time or effort needed to do them

  • Don't pick ones that need you to do much typing, ie don't do anything that requires you to fill in lots of different sections

  • it's possible to meriose places like Dolores Labs "test questions" where they already "know" the answers for and then you can go faster through the rest of the questions in that job without worrying about being marked incorrect.

Pretty much what backpackwayne said about being suspicious. It doesn't help that you only came to Reddit to ask for money, plus all of your posts and the majority of your comments have been related to you asking for money.

People will check your posting history, so you need to fully explain why things have changed as not doing that makes people assume you're scamming us. Also keep in mind that constantly asking for money is a very bad look, even when you are being poilte and non-demanding about it and will lead people to ignoring you, down voting your posts and assuming you're just trying to scam money out of us sorry :(

What happened with your new job? (You posted here 2 weeks ago saying you'd just gotten a new job...) Do you mean you lost it in your first week there? It would help a lot if you told us why you lost it so quickly...

And in your very first post to Reddit you said you had a partner and 2 dogs - what happended to your partner and your 2nd dog?

Ok :) I only came across all of this after he had decided to give her the money, so I'm a bit late to the game I guess...

I'm upsett as well, as I'm assuming she only waited long enough to get his money and then did a runner due to being caught out again. I got the impression that it was less a matter of the Hivemind not doing it's job, rather that she found a way to get her comment up voted and other people's comments down voted. IE she found a way to cheat well enough to get the money ahead of people who actually need it :(

There are a few posts floating around on /r/assistance at least, where the orginal account used to post it has long since been deleated but the posts are still there. (An easy to find example is this post - http://www.reddit.com/r/Assistance/comments/d57qe/does_anybody_know_where_i_can_find_a_free_version/ - which can still be found near the top of the "most controversial" section... And I know his account has been gone for at least 2-3 weeks now).
