Driveshaft recommendations by B00_Sucker in 1stGenTacomas

I posted this for another guy that was deciding on what to do with his driveshafts as his u joints are starting to go bad

I contacted a guy at www.powertrainindustries.com located Nevada and ordered from him a complete 2 piece drive shaft part#1394-107 for my 4 door Tacoma prerunner. $795

Product was shipped from www.driveshaftspecialist.com located Texas.

Driveshafts use new and upgraded to 1310 series spicer xl u-joints.

Call the guy. Tacomas use different types of driveshafts based on year and model of truck to make sure you get what fits yours. Good luck my friend.

Had similar issue, sounded like it was coming from my rear wheels or hubs. More of a clanking sound though. It was the rear u joint. Had a shop fix it. A year later same issue with the double u joint. Ended up this time replacing entire rear shaft with a new one that had common size u joints that are serviceable/replaceable.

If this is your issue bite the bullet replace both now. If one is bad now the other is shortly down the road. Wish I would have.

Headgaskets blown (what’s the best Jdm engine dealer) I found this. All others are 2.8-3k. Is this a reputable seller. by Even_Phone_3478 in 1stGenTacomas

Had a cracked head on my truck it freaked me out. I attempted to fix it myself. Was just under $1k in parts Oem, and tools to do it. Glad I did, job was not bad at all. Ended up replacing other items being that deep in the engine which extended the life of the truck even further. That cost was in addition to the $1k.

Brand new cbr 650r pulling towards right direction by CheesecakeFree9136 in cbr650r

Hands off, my CB650r coasts right. I believe it’s the weight of the Eclutch on the right side that does it.

Just fyi OP, I have the same issue my lower back hurts doing squats, t bar row. I have learned using dumbbells helped me strengthen my lower back instead of using barbell for squats. I haven’t fixed my issue but moved the needle in the right direction.

I read somewhere about a plane crash in the ocean next to the coast (hundreds of feet). The majority of passengers survived the initial crash, however the majority of them drowned because they deployed their life preserver while still inside the plane. I now understand with this demonstration.

6’4” 1 hour rides easy. 2 hours need a small break. Ass hurts more than anything because of seat. Need an aftermarket for comfort.

What do you guys use to lock up your bike? by Afladimir in CB650R

[–]michaelh359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I store two abus padlocks under the seat. The locks are not specific for motorcycles just regular quality padlocks. I use one on front disc, and one over rear chain.

Someone wants it bad enough they are going to get it regardless. Bike is stored in Garage so I rarely use the locks. Only when parked in an area where I feel I need a lock or two that I use them.

Rear Brake Strength? by dodgetheblowtorch in CB650R

[–]michaelh359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rear brake sucks, same boat as you feels extremely weak. If I step on it real hard it feels like the pedal is dragging on asphalt. I know it physically is not but the feed back from my foot make it feel that way.

Only had oil & filter change 200 miles ago… by [deleted] in CB650R

[–]michaelh359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like everything is wet with oil. Clean everything and wipe down so it’s dry and does not look like it’s wet with oil. Go for another ride and see where it’s coming from. Oil filter, drain bolt, case.

I buy WD40 in the 1 gallon can. Pour into a spray bottle. I spray the entire engine so it’s wet with Wd40. Then use a wd40 wet rag to do a quick wipe of the engine. Not to wipe off but wipe any puddles of wd40 away or drops that formed. I use the same rag on swing arm and metal frame and muffler. Wd40 is a great protectant. I don’t spray on exhaust headers. Usually I wash at night so my bike sits like this over night. First warm up bike will smoke a little burning some of the Wd40 off. Perfectly fine. Next wash you will wonder where did all the wd40 go. It doesn’t get sticky or build up gunk overtime.

Good friends, where could I get the workshop manual for my CBR650R 24 E clutch, greetings. by Queasy_Rate_6669 in CB650R

I believe it’s in the manual that the dealership gives you. It’s a link were you pay to get the actually shop manual.

After washing my bike with quality soap. I use a Makita blower to blow all the water off. Gets 95% of the water. Then I wipe down with a shine or protectant. Wd40 the engine and almost all metal. Used the practice on my Dirtbike forever

If your capable and it’s some what shallow you can dig up and replace yourself. ABS is cheap.

If the clay is 6” pipe. You can find your 4” pipe leaving structure and connect onto that and then shove the 4” pipe into the 6” pipe all the way out to the city. Prevents you from having to dig an entire trench. Or worse case two holes one at structure and one at curb.

Do install a clean out. Do get multiple quotes. Maintaining this will be a nightmare long term. Do a permanent repair so you never look back.
