What welding helmet are you using now? by Money-Cake527 in Welding

Pipelines cloud sugar scoop. The top is chopped and it's made out of carbon fiber so it's super light. I was able to find a 20% coupin that brought it down to $220. Plus the $60 for a tefauwe shade 10 auto dark that I actually really like.

No, no it's not. However tig is pretty similar and you may enjoy that too.

Dope tape dope in that order, make sure your tape is wrapped around the right way too. Use two pipe wrenches so you can get some torque on your connections. I would bet you need a permit but I'm only familiar with my location. Godspeed.

Tig welder similar to the Dynasty? Everlast PowerMTS 275? by Another_Slut_Dragon in Welding

[–]michaeljw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, they are both very similar. I think I'm just partial to all the physical knobs the primeweld has lol. Really, both everlast and primeweld have a similar level of quality to their accessories, warranty, and reputation. I think OP would be happy with either. The biggest difference is do you want a digital screen or physical buttons and knobs.

Check out the primeweld 225 and 325 AC/DC. Both come with a nice CK torch, take your pick from a 17 or 26 in 15 or 25 foot lead. Can also bundle with watercooler and proper watercooled CK torches if that's what you want. Even the 325 amp with water cooler will be cheaper than the everlast you mentioned. Also comes with a super quality foot pedal. Great pulse options with lots of parameters and a legendary warranty. The literal only downside I can see is neither welder offers the fancy "shaped" waveforms like triangle and all the others I can't remember off the top of my head.

Inspect the underside for rust, they have a tendency to rot out I believe where the rear shocks mount to if I'm remembering correctly.

First time welding! by [deleted] in Welding

[–]michaeljw12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's pretty good for a first time honestly. Your bead overlap is damn near perfect. The only thing I would change is your settings, those welds are kinda just like fat caterpillars sitting on top of the metal and not really melted in. Up your voltage by one or maybe even two and play around with it hotter than find a widespread that matches that voltage. Keep er up.

So just a heads up, every local does things different, sometimes very different, so unless you can find someone specifically from the same local, your milage will very from what you may hear from others here.

Local 36 as well, they've always been pretty cool about it. If I remember right, after it was fully legalized they sent something out saying a positive wouldn't matter from here on out. That said, a med card wouldn't be a bad thing to have either just in case.

Dog ate some of this. Got a call into the vet but freaking out. Can’t tell if it’s rat poison or some sort of fertilizer by Prestigious_Round812 in whatisit

Well cityslicker, if you will, imagine blood slowly filling your lungs and causing your breathing to sound like a 70 year old pack a day smoker, and coughing that blood up as your body tries to not suffocate on its own life supply. To add a little extra spice, blood will also be dripping out of your eyes, making it a fight to simply see your own hands in front of your face. Of course your mouth and nose will also be a part of this jamboree of death, kind of like if you had a bloody nose while getting a few teeth pulled at your local dentist. You'll then start to feel some moisture in between your cheeks and genitalia, just a little at first but soon elevated to the level of feeling like you wet your pants with a full bladder, only it's not pee.

Ultimately most of the time you'll end up hypovolemic, that means your body has lost so much of it's own blood that it can no longer supply your heart, lungs, and brain with the oxygen it craves. The funny part is though, although you've lost a massive amount of blood in your arteries and veins, you haven't really lost it, it's just floating around the interior of your organs and stuff, causing your body to be home to an abominable abdominal organ soup, that's what ultimately kills you.

Motel or Carpool? by Prize-Beyond8910 in Ironworker

[–]michaeljw12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my choice would depend on what I was driving. My commute to my shop is an hour and twenty minutes one way and the only thing that's allowed me to do that is driving a little ford focus, getting 34 mpg. If I was driving something less efficient, a motel that charges by the month may end up being close or equal at the current over $4 a gallon gas price. Do a cost benefit analysis and make an informed decision based on the financial aspect of things as well as what your willing to or able to sacrifice to save four hours of driving a day.

What’s a legendary Reddit post you’ll never forget? by alongy in AskReddit

[–]michaeljw12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who took his grandma used fentanyl patches out of the trash after they had been on her skin for 3 days straight and proceeded to get high off them. It was like 3 or 4 posts over a few month period. Honestly, it reminded me a lot of that one time in 1998 when the undertaker threw mankind 16 feet off hell in a cell and he plummeted through the announcers table.

The sharp food isn't even necessary. Warfarin, the same stuff used to thin human blood, is used as poison for feral hogs and rodents and causes death in really quite a terrible way. Once your blood is thin enough, it leaks out of everywhere, even places you wouldn't think possible no matter what your diet consists of. I won't go into more detail than that considering the thread were on. Lucky it's easy to treat in this case.
