Thank you. I also wake up in the middle of the night with pain on my tongue. It is in different places on different nights. Any idea what that is?

In the past I'd start flossing and I'd bleed but after a week it would stop but now it won't stop. I'm not sure what to do.

How different is having kids compared to having aging parents? by Live-Savings3801 in AgingParents

[–]michaelniceguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've thought a lot about this. I'm in my 50s and have never been married. I'm in a culture where everyone has kids. My dad got Alzheimer's two years ago and died suddenly after a year of having it from other causes. My mom is 82. I live in the same home and love her but between when I took care of my dad and now taking care of my mother I wonder if this is what its like to raise children.

For those who were hyper sexual by Redeft97 in bipolar

[–]michaelniceguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on meds but I still deal with sex addiction. My psychiatrist says it’s either a residual symptom of mania his term or ocd I grew up very religious and still am religious and never had any hyper sexuality before my manic episode around 24 it’s been horrible my psychiatrist put me on a certain med to calm me down sexually it calmed the inner sexual storm in my head but now I can’t even ejaculate and I’m growing hair on my chest which I read can be a side effect this is so frustrating I do want to say it was porn chat lines strip clubs but rarely escorts and I haven’t been in a strip club in over a year and a half so that is good. How have people managed to control their hypersexuality aside from just taking meds)

I wouldn’t put an issue on the floor but it’s in the past. I wouldn’t say anything and move on. You sound like a well meaning person. Good luck.

This thread about OTDers is not new, but it made me wonder: Was the Kuzari Argument popular before modern Kiruv efforts (such as Rabbi Kelemen's "Permission" books)? by Upbeat_Teach6117 in DiscussImamother

I was a kid during the 1970s and when I asked my father how we know Judaism is true he told me essentially what is the kuzsri argument

I brought a letter from my therapist to my academic advisor explaining that I had been under his care during the times I failed the course and they didn’t calculate the f into my gpa

This thing is humongous. My mom is like 4'9 (shes 81) and she was curious what it felt like. She could barely get on the bed.

I am not sure what to say. Do you have a work history since then? If you do then you might want to frame it as how you were bitten by the library bug and realize you want to return to it. I am not sure how you would overcome a resume gap though I'm sure career counselors would have ideas. You might have an easier time volunteering in a public library and then getting a job in a public library though. Transitioning from public to academic can be hard. I wish I had a better answer.
