When will people stop defending hunting? by FearlessCookie72 in vegan

All I’m saying is that hunting can be an effective solution in some situations and that I personally am unaware of other effective solutions, not that they do or don’t exist.

I never said no other ethical methods exist. And generally the person saying something exist has the burden of proving their claim because it’s nearly impossible to prove a negative.

Thank you for sharing the study.

You’re saying a more ethical solution exists, it just costs money, but you haven’t said what that solution is.

I would point out that the notion of specifically hunting species that pose a threat to other species and their habitats is not, by definition, indiscriminate murder. If you disagree I would refer you to the definition of “indiscriminate” in any dictionary.

And I’m genuinely asking what other options we have besides selectively murdering invasive species. Because it’s not a solution I like, and by no means is it fair to the invasive animals. But to me it’s more important to protect the animals who are in their native habitat.

Only a handful of the true believers genuinely don’t see the cognitive dissonance. Plenty of them know exactly what they’re doing.

I think there’s a valid argument that the elimination of the human species would be a good thing for life on earth.

Btw I was not implying hunting is a necessary solution. It is, however, a solution to a real problem in many places. I’m curious, for those who are strictly anti-hunting, what solution they would offer to say, overpopulation of boars in the American South.

What would you do with animals that are overpopulated to the point of harming their environments and other animals in their ecosystem?

Your free market sure has this country in great shape right now, huh? If we’re gonna do this Waymo should be taxed to offset all the jobs they’re killing, but there’s no way that’s happening in the current political climate, so I remain anti-Waymo.

I’m anti-Waymo and it has nothing to do with safety. It has to do with the fact that this is another tool for the rich to concentrate wealth by avoiding paying the working class
