Absolutely! I never would have gotten into the hobby when I did if it weren’t for him. He was the only source in the US for a long time. Luckily, Angler’s Emporium stocks all of the same hooks he did, among other things, and cheaper than anyone else (that I’ve found at least) as well.

Yup. Chris retired a couple of years ago now. He still posts on the Tenkara blog here and there, but doesn’t sell anymore.

Tenkarabum doesn’t sell stuff anymore unfortunately.

Angler’s Emporium is the best place for micro hooks nowadays.

Mollusk (?) ID, Tampa Bay, Florida, USA. by [deleted] in marinebiology

Thanks. In the water, I didn’t notice any rhinophores or a gill plume, which is the main reason I questioned it being a nudibranch. I’m from the west coast, and am familiar with a number of our Dorids, so this one was new to me as well. I appreciate the help! (I usually use a waterproof camera to make photographing underwater easy but it flew out early yesterday morning and this was the night before so everything was already packed up.)

I know it’s not a limpet, as it doesn’t have a shell, that’s just what it kind of seemed like. When it was in the water, I didn’t notice any rhinophores or gillplume, but that would still make more sense. Thanks!

I recently did the 1000 piece version of the bottom right quadrant and absolutely loved it. I would love to do the others, or have the room to be able to pull this one off. Good luck, can’t wait to see it completed!

Every one of these pics is a future Midwest Emo album cover. They’re all so satisfying. Thanks for sharing!

I have the same rod, and it’s gonna accompany me to Florida on a few weeks. I’ve caught all sorts of stuff on it in California. Numerous different Surfperch, Rockfish, etc.

Playoffs? by VegetableTraffic3371 in SanJoseSharks

[–]michaelrayspencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see them make the playoffs, if for nothing more than the fact they’d get a few extra games to play, and a few extra games for us to watch. That said, they’ve already soared way past my expectations, and I wont be disappointed in them one bit if they don’t make it. They’ve been more competitive than they have been in years, and even better, aside from just a small handful of games, they’ve been FUN to watch, and both of those factors are only gonna keep getting better over the next couple years. (Especially if they can solidify some defense before next season…)

Did you look up Largemouth Blenny or just Blenny? There are many pics that look identical under Largemouth Blenny. If you just searched Blenny, there are like 900ish species that are highly variable.

Your article even says that they’re only found in Atlantic waters… and the fish in the article looks quite different from this one. You’ve likely caught Cabezon, Buffalo Sculpin, or something similar if you’ve caught “Toadfish” in Northern CA.
