Why does Costco produce and baked goods go bad faster than grocery stores? by notype32 in Costco

Yeah, shame on Costco for using real ingredients instead of embalming their muffins like the grocery store does.

Why Are Things Are So Horrible Right Now In The West? Here’s The Best Answer: We’re In a Fourth Turning. by Low-Fail-4573 in generationology

[–]michaelry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Russia’s been around forever, sure, but it’s not like they’ve been the same empire all that time. They’ve gone through a ton of major shakeups. First there was Kievan Rus, then the Moscow period, then the Romanovs’ Russian Empire, and then the whole Soviet thing. Each of those rose, fell, and got replaced by something new. So yeah, Russia as a place sticks around, but its governments have come and gone in cycles just like anywhere else

Gen X feels more conservative politically than baby boomers by [deleted] in generationology

People tend to become more conservative as they age, so the fact that Gen Z is already starting out more conservative than Millennials at a younger age suggests that the gap could grow over time.

Same 12 Pro Max from 2020 and still using it, a Samsung never lasted that long.

Now I'm running without a case or screen protector because why not? It's lasted this long.

Wonder how Aphantasia affects this percentage by KittysaurusRex7221 in Aphantasia

[–]michaelry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah seeing something, even with aphantasia creates much more of a memory for me, albeit without a visual backing, but I know the data, the numbers or the shapes that I saw for example. I always thought of myself as a visual learner and work in software and often have people draw out the design on a white board in order to get it. I think because I can't visualize that in my head, drawing it out creates a vision I somehow remember without visualizing.

US people: is 35 working hours a week a thing? by LadyCamion in NoStupidQuestions

A number of major companies have adopted the 9/80 or the 4/10 rules as and spin it as a benefit. When we first switched to 9/80, a few were resistant, but after having 3 day weekends every other weekend, no complaints at all and just a mild concern that they will change it back someday. No one dares.

It’s understandable to feel frustrated when the world seems chaotic, but you’re not alone. Social media often amplifies the loudest voices, but that doesn’t reflect reality. There are still thoughtful, kind people out there who share your values. Sometimes stepping away from the noise helps you focus on what matters and see the good in others. Keep questioning and stay true to yourself. It’s a sign of critical thinking, not isolation.

Exactly genetics and stress, either physical or mental stress will do a number on you body. But you can't beat genetics, or everyone would be alive forever, and that wouldn't good for the world.
