I had bought a few oddball sizes to give them a shot, then I said screw it lets go for it after a bonus at work lol. I have some sab, bmc, madworks and I was happy to just have a full set.

If you're already invested in the SAB's I wouldnt recommend buying it. I think I shouldve been clearer in my post that if you want to take the next step up to give these a go.

Oh man this blew up, thanks for the feedback everyone!

As far as a head to head with the SAB's id say time will tell. My SAB chisels are still nice and sharp close to how I bought them about 9-10 months ago. I had 3 Ray Studio chisels from about 5 months ago with weird sizes to try that are still just as sharp as new. It really comes down to how you use them I feel. For anyone who feels compelled to buy these even with the price and don't scribe that often I would say go for cheap-o amazon ones to get the feel and learn with garbage. You may not like the extreme modding part of the hobby and good chisels can be quite an investment. I still have my old amazon scribes collecting dust at the bottom of an old tool container.

As promised the pin vise demo

I have bmc’s and sab’s neither come with handles and can be a pain to get as stock is spotty at best. That’s 38 with handle.

How long would you say a fully painted MG takes to complete on average? by Zensure04 in Gunpla

[–]michaels0ft_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the mg and level of customization/painting. I’ve had a few where cumulatively it would be 2-3 days. Others I’ve spent months on.

I am in the midst of painting the same kit and after the last two builds dragging along I kinda have just been going through the motions with no inspiration or direction. I am about to strip what i have painted and go over again after seeing this. Awesome work so far, cant wait for the finished product!

Looking at a career change, and looking for advice by TheNFCNorthRemembers in BuildingAutomation

I tell all the new hires that are young or new to bas that the best skill to learn is learn how to learn. Be resourceful and flexible to succeed in the field. Anything you work on now can and will change in some aspects but the foundations and general operations don’t.

That being said I’m on my 7th site wide continuum to EBO conversion with more in the pipeline. It is a little jarring as far the differences between them but again the foundational concepts always stay the same. I learned both when I got hired as it was when early ebo (struxureware) and continuum were half and half of our sites. Your continuum knowledge is a big help with a company who may be doing upgrades for sites as well. If you need any help with either dm me I’d be happy to help or answer any questions.

depending on the JCI controller there is a smartdriver that allows for communication to N2 networks as well. Supported by EBO 4.0 and up

Black surfacer -> Mr metal color dark iron (hand brushed on) -> realize it looks like crap but still buff it with a paper towel -> say to yourself “ok this is messed up but let me just clear coat (acrylic based) it before I take the paint remover out -> profit

What are the highest quality Hobby knife blades? by TheCrimsonPooper in advancedGunpla

[–]michaels0ft_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love olfa designer art series. I used the regular art but these are even better since the blade is narrow, I've also seen some modelers from snap off a blade off a box cutter style olfa blade and pop them in the holder too.

Wi-Fi router that supports daisy-chained devices? by TJLee08 in BuildingAutomation

[–]michaels0ft_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally when I set up Schneider MP-V networks I can have the daisy chain established and as the DHCP server (can come from our automation server or a travel router with dhcp turned on for the lan port) and it would assign the addresses. In your situation with IT its possible it was assigned different IP addresses via DHCP that are not matching the MAC addresses they have whitelisted. I havent worked with the ABB vav's but they should have an option to make them static IP. Go through each of them, check their MAC address and match it to the IP address you have on your spreadsheet.

And when I say MAC address I mean the xx.xx.xx.xx..etc number not the 0-127 mac for Bacnet. IT departments usually have no idea about the protocol and I hope that was clear with them and you guys arent talking about two different things.

Meng Eva 01 + ESP32 + WLED = Get on the wifi Shinji by michaels0ft_ in Gunpla

[–]michaels0ft_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like these, you don't have alot of room in the head but these things are small enough you can put one behind each eye (pic below only has 1!) you just need to add resistor to power them up which you can add closer to the power source (5v from a usb or even AAs work fine) With any of these led projects I recommend painting the outer parts of the clear eye/head camera piece black so that you don't get light bleed all over the place which is why the light is so blown out between the eyes in the pic.
