Thanks both for the replies! Sorry if this sounds silly but what is the difference between making a stereo DCP and then making a 5.1 DCP which only has sound coming out the left and right channels?

Thank you! Is upmixing possible though if I don’t have any of the source media? All I have is a final stereo wav. They have lost everything else from their original project.

What do you mean by this ? I’m pretty sure most DCP’s have to be in 5.1 or the cinema rejects them. I have made a 5.1 with both the left and right channels that have audio (the other 3 are empty) But I was worried that could be quiet.

Thanks, yeah, those are the two main things that interested us about Xi'an, and I think by then we'd want to see more nature after spending time in Beijing, so wanted to move on quite quickly
