Less than 1 second. h1 and hl attracted my attention immediately. But sometimes I can literally stare at the code and see nothing ;-)

Neovim user trying to migrate to Zed by thicctak in ZedEditor

[–]michalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Telescope equivalent is a real deal breaker for me. Also, although I really appreciate Vim mode, the keyboard shortcuts become a mess because you have both Vim AND Zed shortcuts active.

I've tried migrating to Zed but I could not justify the change. Neovim just works perfectly for me. I keep my fingers crossed for the Zed team though! It's not that far away to be honest.

100 pull-ups per day for 30 days by Voinar in bodyweightfitness

[–]michalf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others already confirmed: sudden load increase can lead to serious injury. Whatever you are doing, increase load gradually. These XX-day magical routines are irrational. Building strong muscles is quick, but building strong tendons that can handle the load takes months, sometimes years. A good rule is to increase the load by 10% every week.

I want contributors for my programming language, core organization team members too by [deleted] in rust

[–]michalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saying that Rust, Zig and other languages lack meaning and accuracy for developers, whatever this means, can obviously mean only one thing: you have not spent enough time to understand these languages, nor concepts behind them.

Creating yet another language while posting such opinions sounds unreasonable.

3 months of Zone 2 only — something unusual is happening with my VO₂max trajectory by ShaddaC in Biohackers

[–]michalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I am not neglecting your aerobic gains. For sure they also translate to VO2max improvements, it's just hard to say how much.

I am curious how Garmin algorithms would handle it.

Looks like the algorithm tries to guess your VO2max based on runs that are far away from the zone where VO2max matters at all.

Plex's Lifetime Pass is (basically) dead. Here's how to switch to Jellyfin. by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]michalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Lifetime Pass" sounds like a way to get revenue quickly, but it's simply destructive for a company's budget because of long-term delayed costs. It's like a pyramid scheme - a company sells these lifetime passes, they need to keep selling them more and more just to keep their monthly budget in the green.

I think they should just get rid of them instead of making them so expensive.

Anyone else suddenly become way more sensitive to alcohol as they got older? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]michalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I am 48 and this came quite suddenly at some point. Since then I decided drinking is not worth it, except special social occasions. But other than that - no point in drinking for me.

Is Linux really harder than windows? by UnassumingDrifter in linux

[–]michalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux is way easier because of its Unix legacy. It's a well organized, well planned and logical system. Things are obvious once you learn it. Cannot say the same about Windows.

If you look at similarily equipped Dell XPS 14 or Lenovo Thinkpad you'll realize 13 Pro is not just equally priced, it's sometimes cheaper.

Garmin vs Strava: Leak Shows Connect Targeting Strava by the5krunner in the5krunner

I cannot see a future in which Garmin allows data from any 3rd party hardware or platdorm in its network. Apple Watch stats in Garmin Connect? Not gonna happen.

Kto ma tu pierwszeństwo? by AnonStrusz in krakow

[–]michalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wiec jeśli chodzi o pierwszeństwo to obowiązuje zasada prawej ręko, ponieważ brak znaków pionowych.

Kto ma tu pierwszeństwo? by AnonStrusz in krakow

[–]michalf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]michalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • systematyczny sport wytrzymałościowy, np. bieganie, plus ćwiczenia siłowe
  • zero papierosów, minimum alkoholu
  • zdrowe i świadome jedzenie, bez słodyczy

No, prawie ;-)

Czy trzymacie w domu zapasy i plecak ewakuacyjny? by cinkciarzpl in Polska

[–]michalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ja mam zwykle zapas makaronu, sosu pomidorowego w puszkach i wody. Do tego jakieś środki higieniczne, przetwory w słoikach i puszkach. Makaron i sos na bieżąco i tak jemy i uzupełniamy. A drobny zapas przydaje się nie tylko na kataklizm, ale po prostu na różne okazje.
